DraftKings making full use of AI across their business

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins confirmed to shareholders that the company are using artificial intelligence (AI) in greater detail than ever before across their business.

The sports betting company, who announced revenue of £1.06 billion for the opening quarter of 2025, are now using an ‘AI-first mindset’ when it comes to how they work.

Whilst presenting the results to analysts on a company call, Robins explained why AI is helping the company deliver great results.

“I think it has been a real big win for us over the last quarter or so, maybe two,” stated DraftKings CEO Robbins. “It’s gone from something where pockets of the company were using it, to becoming a company-wide movement, it’s really great to see.

“One example I’d like to point to is that all we would see people thinking about was ‘what could I do if I had more with headcount?’, and now people are totally shifting that mindset to ‘what could I do with AI?’, it’s an amazing thing!”

Notable examples of how DraftKings are using AI is by streamlining the company’s customer support experience by using the tool to engage with customers when they need help.

In addition to that, the business are using it to oversee product development at a faster, more-efficient and more successful way than ever before.

“As far as where the opportunities are, it’s really across the board on both revenue and cost side,” added Robins. “There’s not a place that you can’t see efficiency gains throughout the company.”

“Everything from documents being created and summarised, to customer service not having to spend 45 minutes to an hour tracking down dozens of emails or other customer communications, because an AI tool can summarise everything that’s been happening in a case to date in two seconds or less.

“It’s just a really remarkable thing to see how much people have really started to understand how this can be life changing and business changing, and we’re leaning in really hard.”

All signs seem to suggest that it’s working for the company, with DraftKings revenue up 20% on last year’s Q1 results.

The Boston-based company cited a healthy customer engagement and an ‘efficient’ approach to customer acquisition as reasons behind the company’s huge success.

It’s difficult to quantify the impact AI has made in DraftKings’ remarkable start to 2025. If AI is playing as big a part as Robins suggests then it’s a matter of time before other gambling businesses will use artificial intelligence across their businesses.
