Games studio Million Games have revealed that it is embarking on a journey to gain “some of the toughest and most prestigious licences in the gaming industry”.
The company, which has launched several new games already this year, said it is making the move to enable it to forge new partnerships with iGaming partners in some of the most prominent markets.

Million Games have already started the application process with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC); the commission has a 16-week processing time for applications, so it could be several months before the company receives a response.
The UKGC’s May 2014 licence conditions and codes of practice state that remote gambling operators must source their gambling software from licensed gambling software businesses.
If Million Games wants to partner with UKGC-licensed online casinos, it must get a licence from the appropriate Government-led party first (the UKGC).
The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) have similar requirements.
According to Million Games, the licence acquisition will also enhance their credibility while also making their partnership programme, Million Stars, more appealing to independent game makers.
The company launched Million Stars in April 2024. The programme is targeted at smaller gaming manufacturers, enabling them to develop games under the Million Games brand.
The programme has led to the launch of games including Vault Rush, Captain’s Curse and Thorfinn’s Journey.
The company’s most recent launch, Vault Rush, hit the market two weeks ago. It was made in collaboration with YUGO Workshop as part of the Million Stars programme.
The five-reel, three-row, 20-playline slot machine has a maximum 4,000x payout and comes on the heels of Thorfinn’s Journey which launched in January as a result of the same partnership.
Million Games has continued to expand its own portfolio of games. Chicken X was released at the start of March. The game is a modern twist on the classic road-crossing game where every lane crossed adds to the player’s winnings.
Thomas Nimstad, CEO of Million Games, said of the game: “Chicken X brings a unique blend of nostalgia and excitement, making every jump with your chicken feel like an all-or-nothing moment.”
The company has also extended its blackjack games, launched a plinko game, and released Million Wheel, a multiplayer game where players compete for one prize pool.
In March 2024, Million Games completed the acquisition of Spiffbet’s game development arm, adding STHLM Gaming AB and Rhino Gaming to their studio.
The deal was worth a reported £300,000, with the final price dependent on the outcome of the final transferred business.
Acquiring licences from three of the world’s biggest gambling authorities will enable Million Games to push these and other games to new, potentially profitable markets. Nimstad said of the deal:
“Licencing is a cornerstone of trust and growth in iGaming. By securing these licences, we aim to provide Million Games and our partner studios with seamless access to some of the world’s most lucrative and well-regulated gaming markets.”
