Dizzee Rascal announced as new brand ambassador of Playbet
UK grime artist Dizzee Rascal has been announced as the new brand ambassador of crypto casino and online sportsbook Playbet.io.
The deal will see Dizzee create promotional content for the company while live-streaming his bets and other activity on the site and represents the latest in a growing trend of crypto casinos partnering with major names to help enhance their reputations and grow their userbases.

Crypto gambling has become increasingly popular, thanks to its promise of faster payments and greater privacy. The industry itself has also benefited from celebrity endorsements.
Some of the collaborations, such as LeBron James’s 2022 ad for crypto.com, were carefully planned. Others, like Snoop Dogg’s shilling of Dogecoin, have been more organic, but they have all helped enhance the reputation of the respective crypto companies.
Following in the footsteps of the broader crypto industry, crypto gambling companies have also attempted to benefit from some celebrity shilling.
Stake.com has been partnered with rapper Drake since 2022, with the Canadian live-streaming his real bets and giving away cryptocurrency to viewers.
Snoop Dogg, a major driving force behind cryptocurrency Dogecoin’s rise to become one of the most popular cryptos in the world, has signed as an ambassador for Roobet.
Crypto gambling companies have also partnered with sports players, leagues, and teams, although some have struggled to deal with regulatory issues in the UK market. Playbet.io, which only launched last year, has followed a similar path as it tries to carve out a place in the market.
In January, the company, which operates a crypto casino and sportsbook, was announced as the official entertainment partner of Como 1907. The club, recently promoted to Serie A, said they hoped the partnership would improve the fan experience.
Brand ambassador deals and sponsorships have been made possible by the massive revenue that is flooding into the crypto gambling industry. It was recently reported that crypto casinos took an estimated £60bn in revenue in 2024. While only a fraction of the size of the traditional online gambling market, it is catching up.
Playbet.io is a relative newcomer to the crypto gambling stage. It launched in June 2024 and was estimated to have made around $1m in its first year of operation. But it has been aggressively marketing and promoting its services since.
A couple of months after its launch, in August 2024, the site announced the “Win 1 BTC Raffle”. New players who signed up for the site received a free raffle entry with the chance of winning 1 Bitcoin, and entrants could increase their chances of winning by depositing extra money.
Playbet.io offers more than 4,500 casino games, with a huge portfolio of slots as well as table games and popular crash games. There are also live casino games as well as a sportsbook where members can place bets on global sporting markets and events.
