BetMGM have announced the appointment of Casey Hurbis as their new chief marketing officer (CMO).

Hurbis arrives at BetMGM after previously serving as CMO for Rocket Mortgage. During his time with the United States’ largest retail mortgage lender, Hurbis helped the company achieve consecutive No. 1 rankings on USA Today’s Ad Meter for Rocket Mortgage’s Super Bowl commercials.

He was also the driving force behind the launch of the Rocket Mortgage Classic event in Detroit, Michigan, on golf’s PGA Tour.

While at Rocket Mortgage, Hurbis worked with BetMGM’s creative agency of record, Highdive, on three top-ranked Super Bowl commercials, with that grounding and synergy with the agency expected to be a major benefit as Hurbis takes up his new role.

Prior to his role with Rocket Mortgage, Hurbis worked extensively in the automotive marketing space. During his 24 years in that sector, he led advertising and communications for Italian automotive giants FIAT and Alfa Romeo.

Hurbis is also heavily involved in a number of philanthropic ventures and is a keen supporter of the Special Olympics, Salvation Army and Bethany Christian Adoption Services. He also serves on the board of directors for Adcraft Detroit, Michigan State Communication Arts and Sciences, Brand Innovators and the Detroit Sports Commission.

“Sports betting is one of the most competitive and rapidly evolving industries in the marketing world, and I’m honoured to join BetMGM at such an exciting time in its growth,” said Hurbis in a statement.

“BetMGM is a brand with incredible momentum, backed by a team that is redefining how we engage and entertain audiences.

“I look forward to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation to not only attract new audiences but enhance the experience for our loyal players to even greater heights.”

Hurbis joins BetMGM as the organisation’s first CMO since 2020. He will report directly to BetMGM’s chief revenue officer Matt Prevost, who hailed the company’s latest new hire as they continue to build out their leadership team ahead of 2025.

“Building BetMGM from the ground up into one of the most recognisable brands in the sports betting and iGaming sphere has been an incredible accomplishment made possible by the tireless efforts of our amazing team,” he said, via a press release.

“Bringing a visionary leader like Casey Hurbis on board adds another impactful advantage for our brand.”

BetMGM launched in 2018, and currently operates in 29 markets globally, with mobile and retail betting and gaming products. Their flagship product, the BetMGM Sportsbook, is available in app form via Apple’s App Store and for Android via Google Play Store. BetMGM Sportsbook is also available via web browsers, at BetMGM.
