Christmas number one betting odds: Can anyone beat Mariah Carey?

December is here and the race for the 2024 Christmas number one is on.
According to the latest odds from William Hill, Wham! are the favourites at 1/16, with their classic tune ‘Last Christmas’ still popular at UK festivities, 40 years since it was originally released.
Following its success earlier in the week, Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers ranks number two, with odds of 12/1 in the expectations of becoming Christmas number one with the group's parody of Mud's festive single 'Lonely for Christmas' renamed 'Freezing for Christmas'.
Ranking in at number three is Gracie Abrams' 'That's so True' which has been upped in the rankings this week with odds of 33/1.
Mariah Carey is joint third favourite at 33/1, with her iconic Christmas anthem ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ also reaching a landmark this year, having come out in 1994.
The way the UK charts work now means that streams are taken into account along with purchases. 100 paid streams equals one sale, as does 600 free streams.
With the British public fond of playing old Christmas classics in the build-up to the 25 December, old favourites have a better chance than ever of being No.1, with Wham! claiming the accolade last year.
The 2024 Christmas charts will be announced on Friday December 20.
