PDC CEO, Matthew Porter, said: “BoyleSports has been a valued partner of the PDC for many years and we’re delighted that they will continue as title sponsors until at least 2027.
“The BoyleSports World Grand Prix is one of the highlights of the PDC calendar and we are excited to grow the tournament in the coming years.”
The tournament, which is held at the Mattoli Arena in Leicester, sees the top 32 players in the world compete over a week-long knockout competition.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be extending our partnership with the PDC for another three years,” added Sharon McHugh, Head of PR and Sponsorship at BoyleSports.
“The BoyleSports World Grand Prix is truly unique with its double-in, double-out format adding an extra layer of drama and excitement. We’re very proud to continue supporting such a prestigious tournament that never fails to deliver unforgettable moments.”
Last year’s tournament, won by Belgian Mike De Decker, saw him earn a £120,000 prize pot, and with the PDC increasing that amount to £170,000 for 2025, it is an important trophy to win to boost or maintain ranking, and earn a substantial amount of money.
During his journey to the final, BoyleSports donated £10,000 to Bipolar UK, a charity campaign which mirrored Paddy Power’s successful and widely praised fundraising drive for the PDC World’s Championships in 2023 and 2024.
The operator had pledged to donate £20 for every double 20 that was hit during the tournament, and with the ‘tops’ target being one of the most common leg-winners in darts, it proved to be a good move.
De Decker’s final double 20 was fittingly the 365th time that it had been hit, leaving a total of £7,300 which was kindly rounded up by BoyleSports.
James Wade, who was the 10th ranked player at that time, was asked to choose a charity for the donation, and he opted for Bipolar UK, where he is an ambassador.
Gambling remains incredibly popular in darts, with the aforementioned Paddy Power sponsoring the World’s Championship, and the ongoing Premier League highlighting BetMGM.
The sport now ranks within the top 10 most popular sports for betting in the UK, with the rise of Luke Littler and boosted television coverage pushing darts to new and bigger audiences.
The amount of betting sponsors also sees wide variety of markets available for spectators to utilise.
It has been a busy few weeks for the Irish operator, who have also announced their sponsorship of Lockinge Stakes, through a partnership with Newbury Racecourse.
