Kevin De Bruyne’s next club betting odds: Chelsea and Liverpool options amid MLS and Saudi interest

Kevin De Bruyne will leave Manchester City this summer after an 11-year association with the club.

The news was announced at the start of April that the Belgian wouldn’t be offered an extension on his current contract after making over 400 competitive appearances for the Citizens.

During his spell at City, De Bruyne has helped establish them as one of the best teams in Europe, winning six Premier League titles along with the 2023 Champions League.

He will turn 34 by the start of the 2025/26 season, but there is no reason why he cannot perform at the highest level for another year or two.

Courtesy of Ladbrokes, we have got odds on where he could be playing next season.

Any MLS team – Evens

While the MLS had a reputation for being a retirement home for those no longer able to keep up with the pace of European football, this has changed in recent years.

De Bruyne may not be a spring chicken, but he could still offer plenty. Chicago Fire have first option to speak to the midfielder after Inter Miami relinquished their option to discuss a move for him.

Any Saudi team – 3/1

The Middle East could offer a final chance for De Bruyne to boost his pension pot and he would join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jhon Duran and Ruben Neves in moving from the Premier League to Saudi Arabia.

Last summer, the 33-year-old was quoted as saying he was “open” to a move to Saudi Arabia, but nothing materialised as he remained in Manchester for the 2024/25 season.

Could this summer be the time for him to spread his wings? Only time will tell.

Bayern Munich – 12/1

De Bruyne enjoyed a two-year spell in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg between 2013 and 2015, leading them to German Cup glory in his final season.

Bayern Munich are third favourites to sign the Belgian attacking midfielder, with his old team-mate Vincent Kompany eyeing a reunion.

On a free transfer, De Bruyne would be a decent piece of business by Munich as they look to build upon their league title winning campaign. Kompany knows exactly what sort of qualities his former team-mate would bring to his Bayern side.

Chelsea – 12/1

Things might have turned out rather differently had Jose Mourinho placed more trust in De Bruyne during his short stint at Chelsea.

A total of just nine appearances were made at Stamford Bridge before he was sold to Wolfsburg in January 2014.

It is a longshot and if he wishes to remain in the Premier League, there might be better options available…

Liverpool 12/1

Arne Slot has enjoyed an impressive debut season in charge of Liverpool. It is clear, however, that the depth of the squad needs some improvement.

Signing De Bruyne on a free would give the Dutchman an attractive option to utilise next season. Someone who has a plethora of experience performing at the highest level.

His wages might be a problem, but if the Anfield side can work around this, the Belgian international will have the chance to add to his trophy collection in Merseyside.

PSG – 12/1

Luis Enrique has built a team at PSG full of superb young talents combined with the odd experienced professional and it looks to be working wonders.

De Bruyne certainly falls under the latter category, but a short-term deal could work out well for both parties.

He might have to get used to a bit-part role should he make the move to the French capital, but PSG would be able to afford his wage demands.
