EXCLUSIVE WATCH: “People still underestimate me” Lauren Price bites back as she bids to become unified welterweight champion
FIRST.com spoke exclusively to the WBA, WBO and The Ring champion Lauren Price ahead of the huge unified welterweight title fight with Natasha Jonas on 7 March at the Royal Albert Hall.
Price was bullish in her response to claims she had something to prove to the fans or future opponents, suggesting that people ‘still underestimate’ her, despite her sporting prowess and array of accolades in both her amateur and professional career.

The Welsh fighter believes this is the ideal fight for her right now, suggesting Jonas’ skillset ‘brings another level’ out of her game but she will come through with ‘flying colours’.
However, she was in a reflective mood at the first official press conference at London’s Dorchester Hotel in January; discussing her path from ambitious youngster to laser-focused athlete.
“As an eight-year-old girl, I wrote three things down on my list (that) was play football for my country, become a kickboxing world champion and go to the Olympic Games, that was my childhood dream to achieve that and the rest is history…”
