James Kennedy, talkSPORT BET brand head, has been made redundant by the company ahead of a restructure.

Kennedy began his stint at the sports betting operator in February 2023, shortly after its inauguration in November 2022.

During his time at talkSPORT BET, Kennedy managed acquisition, retention and engagement teams to ensure key performance indicators were hit, as well as working with teams across the whole marketing landscape at the company. Additionally, he also worked as the key point of contact for stakeholders and worked closely with brand ambassadors like Alan Brazil, Neil Callan and Ally McCoist.

Prior to working at talkSPORT BET, Kennedy was head of UK engagement at BetVictor from November 2020. BetVictor partnered with talkSPORT BET back in August 2022 and Kennedy worked there for just over two years before making the move to talkSPORT BET in February 2023.

Alongside his time at BetVictor and talkSPORT BET, Kennedy has also worked at GAMING1, Addison Global Limited, as well as enduring an eight year stint at William Hill; where he worked his way up from a content publisher in 2009 to international operations manager in 2016 until 2017.

Speaking of his time working for talkSPORT BET, Kennedy posted to LinkedIn: “This role has been an education like no other. From managing strategy from top-of-the-funnel initiatives, via retention and through to media output and partnerships, to leveraging my previous experience in product management— I've gained invaluable skills along the way. Now, I’m eager to bring this experience to a new role.

He continued: “So, if you’re a recruiter or a connection looking for someone with a deep understanding of marketing strategy, brand partnerships, or product, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m actively exploring new opportunities. To borrow the talkSPORT BET tagline one last time... Bring it on!”
