Jake Paul new favourite to face Tommy Fury as Darren Till bout crumbles

It looks like the planned boxing match between Tommy Fury and Darren Till is dead in the water, and bookies Betfair have immediately released a market offering odds on the identity of Fury’s next opponent.
Fury and former UFC star Till were booked to face off on January 18, but after a fiery press conference that saw Till state that, “If I’m losing the fight, I’m going to kick you straight in the face,” Fury has decided, quite understandably, that he doesn’t fancy running the risk of getting KO'd by a head-kick in the middle of a boxing ring.

In an Instagram story, Fury posted, “I can’t believe I’m writing this but I’m not fighting Darren Till on January 18, 2025.
“For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.
“I am a professional boxer. I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”
Following the news, Betfair have compiled a list of the most likely candidates to face Fury in the boxing ring next, with the most successful influencer-turned-boxer in the world, Jake Paul, heading the list.

FIGHTER | ODDS |
Jake Paul | 2/1 |
KSI | 3/1 |
Logan Paul | 5/1 |
Aaron Chalmers | 7/1 |
Amir Khan | 14/1 |
Roy Jones Jr. | 20/1 |
Paul, who recently defeated Mike Tyson in front of a colossal global audience on Netflix, is a 2/1 shot to face Fury in a rematch of the bout that saw Fury hand Paul his only defeat as a boxer.
Paul’s influencer rival KSI is listed as the second-favourite, at 3/1, with Jake’s older brother Logan Paul third in the betting, as a 5/1 shot. Perhaps the most straightforward fight to book could be with 7/1 shot Aaron Chalmers. The longtime star of Geordie Shore is also a lifelong martial artist and has competed in MMA for BAMMA and Bellator, boxing under the influencer-driven Misfits Boxing banner.
Other options include facing an ageing former world champion, with former unified light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan and former four-weight world champ Roy Jones Jr. quoted at odds of 14/1 and 20/1, respectively.
“Speculation is high about who Tommy Fury will fight next after he announced his intention to pull out of the proposed bout with Darren Till in January”, said Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom.
"Looking at who he could face next, a rematch with Jake Paul is most likely at 2/1, while KSI is 3/1 to step in the ring with his longstanding rival.
“Elsewhere, a stand-off with Jake Paul’s brother Logan is 5/1, with Aaron Chalmers 7/1, while Amir Khan, 14/1, and Roy Jones Jr, 20/1, are the outsiders to face Fury next.”
