India vs New Zealand betting tips: Only the Black Caps can stop India’s perfect tournament

After 14 matches of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, it all comes down to Sunday’s final in Dubai between India and New Zealand!
This is a rerun of last Sunday’s Group A fixture, which saw India win by 44 runs, but that game had little riding on it as both sides had already qualified for the semi-finals.

Victory for India would see them become the first country to lift the Champions Trophy three times, whereas New Zealand will be targeting their first success in the competition in 25 years, after last winning the 2000 edition in Kenya.
India state of play
Rohit Sharma’s side have been one of the top teams in world cricket across all formats for the majority of this decade.
They reached the final of the World Test Championship in both 2021 and 2023, finished as runners-up in the 2023 Cricket World Cup and went one step further last June when winning the T20 World Cup.
India are also the only team with a 100% record across this Champions Trophy. They rarely looked like losing to Australia in Tuesday’s semi-final, getting over the line with four wickets and 11 balls remaining.
Unsurprisingly, they have plenty of players in form ahead of the final, with Shubman Gill (52.33), Shreyas Iyer (48.75) and Virat Kohli (72.33) all bringing very strong tournament batting averages into the game.
With the ball they have not missed the injured Jasprit Bumrah, and in Mohammed Shami and Varun Chakravarthy, they have two of the top three bowlers in terms of wickets in the competition.
New Zealand state of play
Anyone surprised at New Zealand’s progress to the final of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy should question their judgement as they have long been one of the most consistent sides in world cricket.
After finishing as runners-up in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, they beat India to win the 2019-21 World Test Championship before losing in the final of the 2021 T20 World Cup to Australia later in the year.
Often portrayed as the ‘nice-guys’ of world cricket, the Black Caps will be looking to show a ruthless streak on Sunday and replicate their campaign in 2000 when they beat India in the final by four wickets in Nairobi.
New Zealand may have lost to India last weekend, but they have had recent success, including their famous 3-0 away Test series victory only three months ago.
