The Weekly Acca: Chelsea, Liverpool & AC Milan feature in our European picks

We've made it through the final international break of 2024 and can focus on domestic football again! James Walters shares his five value picks from across European football this coming weekend.

Leg 1 – Over 1.5 away team goals in Leicester City vs Chelsea @ 21/50 [Saturday 12:30pm]

Enzo Maresca, who quit Leicester for Chelsea in the summer, has appeared to settle the Blues’ volatility and they find themselves third in the Premier League despite a slight dip in form which has seen them win just one of their last five outings.

Chelsea can go within six points of league leaders Liverpool with a win but over 1.5 away team goals is our safer pick.

Leicester are 15th having conceded 21 times in their 11 outings. The Blues will have far too much quality and Chelsea have scored 16 times in their last six games.

Leg 2 – Both teams to score in AC Milan vs Juventus @ 81/100 [Saturday 5pm]

Two European giants face off in Serie A as AC Milan host Juventus.

It's seventh against sixth and Juventus, who are unbeaten after 12 games, can keep themselves in the title hunt as they sit just two points behind leaders Napoli.

AC Milan have impressed in spells and they're unbeaten in their last three games but the value lies in backing both teams to score.

BTTS has landed in three of Juventus' last five games and Thiago Motta's side have netted 21 times in their 12 matches. AC Milan, meanwhile, have scored 20 goals in 11 games and both teams have netted in their last two outings.

Leg 3 – Over 2.5 goals in Manchester City vs Tottenham @ 33/10 [Saturday 5:30pm]

Manchester City host Tottenham with Pep Guardiola's side looking to avoid losing their fifth straight game in all competitions. 

City are already five points behind Liverpool but they'll be boosted by Guardiola's decision to extend his contract until 2026.

Tottenham have been hit and miss (won five, drawn one, lost five) so instead of picking a winner, we're on over 2.5 goals. It's landed in City and Spurs' last eight games combined!

Leg 4 – Liverpool -1 on the handicap vs Southampton @ 16/25 [Sunday 2pm]

Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table as they travel to 20th-placed Southampton.

Arne Slot's side have been brilliant this season. They've won nine of their 11 games and scored 21 times while conceding just six goals.

They face a Southampton team who have won just once and shipped 21 goals. Instead of backing Liverpool to win, we’re on the -1 handicap, meaning we need them to win by two or more goals.

Leg 5 – Under 2.5 goals in Athletic Bilbao vs Real Sociedad @ 9/20 [Sunday 8pm]

Finally, we're looking at the Basque derby between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad in La Liga.

It's sixth place hosting eighth place and both sides have impressed in spells. Bilbao are unbeaten in their last six games and Sociedad beat Barcelona last time out.

Expect a feisty affair but under 2.5 goals is the pick. It's been a winner in four of Bilbao's last five and in three of Sociedad's last four games.
