Dabble CEO Tom Rundle spoke about his excitement and confidence that the business can thrive in the market:

“Our ambition is about more than market share,” stated Rundle. “We want to provide the next generation of wagering entertainment that isn’t just about betting, and we are really confident that’ll translate to a sizeable market share over time.

“We think our product is going to be very attractive to the UK punter of today and are very confident we’ll quickly build a profitable business within our first few years in the market, just as we’ve done in our other markets.”

At the time of publishing, Dabble’s UK site is not yet live but their careers page suggests a growing UK presence.

They’re currently advertising for roles in their base in Leeds, so a launch before August and the new Premier League season could be possible.

The company are aiming to take a share of a saturated market via its marketing strategy of using social media and influencers to promote its product.

It’s proven to be a success, as its 2024 revenue was £56m – more than double what it was in 2023 at £22.5m.

Their Australian app includes a ‘banter channel’ that encourages interaction between customers and comparisons of bets, whilst there’s also a ‘copy bet’ function that allows customers to copy the bet of someone they follow in just one click.

“We think the UK is one of the least innovative jurisdictions globally,” Rundle added. “They had bet builder introduced, which everyone seems to have now. That’s a product that came out of Australia. Before then, it was probably in-play, which really sort of exploded.

“But other than that, there hasn’t really been much innovation, either in the promotion space or in the actual product space. So, we think we can definitely get a big chunk of the market there pretty quickly and hopefully get to be a profitable business.”

In addition to the granting of their UK licence, Dabble are also eyeing up the US market as their next destination.

“We’re not saying no and we’ve definitely looked at it,” answered Rundle when questioned about US plans. “There are a few options out there. I think eventually we’d like to probably be in as many states and as many jurisdictions as we can, that includes places like Brazil and the USA.”

With Dabble expected to launch in the UK very soon, it’s a case of watch this space for the innovative bookie.
