Kindred donates Middlesbrough shirt sponsorship to support Foundation weekend
Middlesbrough’s principal partner Kindred Group has announced their intention to donate its shirt sponsorship this weekend to the club’s Foundation; which will see the Middlesbrough Foundation’s (MFC) logo featured on the team’s shirts in their Championship fixture against Hull City on 30 November.
Kindred has been the club’s sponsor since 2018, with the group’s brand Unibet typically printed across the shirts of the Teesiders; alongside their responsible gambling message ‘Zero% Mission’.
However, after penning a new deal with the club until 2027, as a show of their continued commitment to the partnership, Kindred have stepped aside in honour of MFC’s ‘Foundation Weekend’.
Commenting on the decision to support the foundation, Sam Mead, Kindred's UK General Manager, stated: “Our relationship with Middlesbrough FC and their Foundation is a long-running, deep and supportive one.
“We are all aware, and incredibly proud of, the Foundation’s incredible work in the North-East community. As such, we are delighted to once again donate our normal front-of-shirt space to the Foundation for this weekend’s fixture against Hull City.
“In the spirit of what this weekend is all about, we would urge supporters to seek out the MFC’s outreach programmes, if they feel they could benefit from the various initiatives on offer.”
Kindred have had close ties with the club’s various initiatives, including the ‘think with your feet’ campaign, designed to bring locals together to play football in a safe and respectful environment.
The group also directly supported the campaign, with a video that featured current Boro player Isaiah Jones sitting down with a group of participants to discuss mental health challenges.
