Virgin Bet partners with Sport Social Podcast Network to reduce season ticket costs
Virgin Bet is teaming up with the Sport Social Podcast Network to help reduce season ticket prices for Premier League fans.
The campaign, which is to be called ‘a grand isn’t grand’, aims to re-address the issue of rising costs of Premier League season tickets.
According to reports by ticket-compare.com, in this current 2024/25 season nine of the 20 Premier League clubs have set their most expensive season ticket at £1,000 or above. With Arsenal’s cheapest season ticket during this current campaign sitting at £1,073.
This initiative will award £1,000 each to eight season ticket holders who will be selected through a competition based on submitted personal stories.
The competition is open to UK-based fans and will invite participants to share why they or someone close to them deserves financial aid to continue to support their favourite teams week in and week out. Submissions will be accepted until 22nd December, via their competitions page, where entrants can share their stories in writing or upload a voice note.
Virgin Bet, alongside the team at Sports Social Podcast Network, has decided to stand behind the match-going supporters, recognising the fan as the heart and soul of football.
With the aim to strengthen their ‘A Good Bet’ brand purpose, which focuses on ways in which the brand can knock down pre-existing barriers and create positive change within sports and culture.
Dominic Vye, Virgin Bet’s Marketing Director, said: “At Virgin Bet, we believe that ‘a grand isn’t grand’ when it comes to the cost of being a football fan. We are committed to making sport accessible for all and with rising season ticket prices, this campaign is our way of supporting fans who help make the sport so special.”
Past efforts have included partnerships like Women’s Day at Doncaster Racecourse. As ticket prices continue to climb, the ‘a grand isn’t grand’ campaign aims to shed light on this issue close to fans' hearts and combat these rising costs that are keeping fans from the stands.
