Midnite has appointed Zach Amin, ex-Sky Bet trading head, as vice president of sportsbook for the online betting challenger brand.

Amin led several crucial campaigns for Sky Bet, during his 11-year tenure with the organisation, including: ‘request a bet’, ‘acca freeze’ and ‘price boosts.’

Now, he will utilise his deep experience to guide Midnite in its bid to bring sports and casino betting “into a new era.”

Previous to his Sky Bet venture, Amin oversaw football analysis for data aggregator, Opta. He departed for pastures anew in December 2013 and signed as a football trader with SkyBet before the end of the same year.

In 2016, Amin was appointed to the position of football trading supervisor; a role he held for almost two years. By 2017, he earned a promotion to football trading manager.

Amin’s efforts were again rewarded in 2019 when he became Sky Bet head of football. Already, his career was littered with promotions – with another upward move to head of Sky Bet trading in mid-2022.

His steady ascent within the Flutter-owned brand proves Amin’s talent in leading roles. Such a positive trajectory has not gone unnoticed, as demonstrated by Midnite’s interest in his services.

Amin replaces Chris Cannon in his new duty with Midnite. Cannon, who was installed as vice president of sportsbook in January, will now shift his focus to economic affairs as vice president of finance.

Amin expressed excitement at his new venture with Midnite in a debut LinkedIn post, saying: “Breaking my long-overdue LinkedIn post silence with some exciting news. I’ve joined the team at Midnite after an incredible 11 years at Sky Bet and Flutter.”

Reminiscing on his Sky Bet successes, Amin said:

“From starting out as a bang-average trader to (hopefully) slightly above average, it’s been an amazing journey. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to be part of and witness some unforgettable moments and innovations as we set the standard in customer-first thinking from World Cups and Euros to countless Cheltenham Festivals, as well as request-a-bet, soccer Saturday price boosts, and acca freeze.”

He concluded the short post on his personal LinkedIn account with a message of appreciation for those who worked alongside him at Sky Bet: “A huge thank you to all my colleagues over the years who made Sky Bet such a fantastic place to work. Excited for what’s ahead!”

Nick Wright, founder of Midnite, congratulated Amin via a concise comment on LinkedIn: “Welcome to Midnite, Zach! Thrilled to have you on board as we disrupt the UK market together. Big things ahead.”

News of Midnite’s acquisition of Zach Amin comes in the wake of a crucial week for the brand, as the firm released its first television advertisement.

At the core of the operator’s mission is a goal to “redefine the online gaming experience”, with Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky each scheduled to broadcast the “cinematic” 30-second clip.
