The World Snooker Tour (WST) have recently announced a deal with Midnite, selecting the operator to be their official casino and betting partner.

This will come into effect for the upcoming Halo World Snooker Championship, which takes place from 19 April to 5 May at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

It marks a busy few days for Midnite, who appointed Zach Amin – former Sky Bet trading head – as their new VP for the online betting challenger brand.

Amin introduced various campaigns during his tenure with Sky Bet, including ‘price boosts’ and ‘request a bet’ which proved extremely popular.

This news comes as Midnite released its first television advertisement and with the firm now being selected as the official partner for the WST, Amin has plenty of work ahead of him.

Betting giant BetVictor sponsored all of the Home Nations events for the 2024/25 season, continuing on from the previous campaign while the World Championship has been sponsored by the likes of Betfred, Betfair and Cazoo over the previous 20 years.

As part of a new promotion, Midnite plans to offer a ticket giveaway for the final session, while Midnite branding will be present throughout the course of the tournament.

“We are dedicated to bringing fans closer to the game they love,” said Nick Wright, Midnite co-founder on the new partnership.

“It doesn’t get any more intimate than the fan experience at the Crucible for the World Snooker Championship, where the sport's most unforgettable moments are created.

“Our partnership will be more than just a logo in the background. We are looking forward to unveiling a series of fan-first activities throughout the tournament and making sure Midnite is in the middle of more magical memories.”

Elsewhere, Peter Wright, WST CCO, also expressed delight at partnering with Midnite: “We are thrilled to join forces with Midnite for the first time on our biggest tournament.

“They are an ambitious brand, committed to the user experience and to bringing fans together to enhance interaction using technology which pushes boundaries.

“Most importantly, they place the highest priority on having fun in a responsible way on their platforms.”

The deal couldn’t have come at a better time for the operator. The World Championship is the biggest tournament in the sport, attracting all of the best players while a worldwide audience of around 500 million viewers watch the action across platforms such as BBC, TNT Sports and WST Play.

Midnite will be hoping that Ronnie O’Sullivan – seven time winner of the tournament and arguably its biggest draw – will take part in Sheffield.

In a recent interview, the Englishman said he would wait until the last minute to make a decision, saying: "I don't know yet. I haven't made my mind up. I'll probably make a decision on maybe the 17th or 18th of April."

Last year, Kyren Wilson claimed his first ever world title, defeating Jak Jones in the final to claim the £500k prize.
