Sky Bet’s 'Every Minute Matters' campaign reaches sign up target two months in advance
British Heart Foundation
Sky Bet have revealed that their ‘Every Minute Matters’ initiative has reached their target of encouraging 270,000 people to learn CPR.
The campaign was launched alongside the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in a charity game filled with legends of the game, back in May 2024.

Individuals are encouraged to sign up to the Foundation’s online RevivR tool, which educates on how to administer CPR should the need arise.
Having now met the initial target, the campaign is now setting its sights on surpassing 360,000 signups by the end of next month.
British Heart Foundation CEO Dr Charmaine Griffiths said: “In less than a year, we’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people rally behind Every Minute Matters and start learning vital CPR.
“It’s incredible that this campaign has reached its ambitious target, and our heartfelt thanks goes to Sky Bet, the football community, talent, fans, the wider public and the UK media for their support and dedication to getting us there.
“But we aren’t stopping here. We are now aiming even higher and hope an extra Wembley stadium learns CPR with RevivR by the end of May, in our efforts to ensure more lives are saved from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.”
Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer has been the face of the initiative after suffering a cardiac arrest in a Premier League game when Luton faced Bournemouth back in December 2023.
Lockyer hasn’t been able to play since the incident but remains focused on securing a return to professional football in the near future.
In the meantime, his focus is on encouraging people to learn the vital techniques which ultimately saved his life at the Vitality Stadium.
And upon hearing of the 270,000 milestone being reached, the Welshman couldn’t hide his delight.
He said: “Thinking back to last May, and taking the pitch with the likes of Graeme Souness, Glenn Hoddle and David Ginola, it’s just incredible to think of how much we’ve achieved.
“Hitting the 270,000 milestone is incredible, and every single person now has a unique skill in their hands. We’ve created a small army of lifesavers.
“I’m so proud of the efforts of everyone involved. We can now move the goalposts and put every effort into getting the number up to four Wembleys, from three – 360,000 people.”
UK bookie Sky Bet launched the campaign alongside the Foundation and has pledged to raise £3m to fund research and community work.
The Sky Bet EFL ‘Every Minute Matters’ 4000km Relay has also hit the halfway stage.
Stars of the game, such as Jack Wilshere, Graeme Souness and Troy Deeney, are among the names participating in the four week marathon, which involves 72 legs across 28 days.
Each leg centres around one of the 72 clubs of the English Football League.
You can sign up for the Foundation’s online tool here to learn CPR today.
