Ollie Watkins next club odds: Where could the Aston Villa striker move this summer?

Ollie Watkins finished the 2024/25 Premier League season with 16 goals and eight assists for Aston Villa as they narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot.

While this is a solid return, it represents a drop from the 19 goals and 15 assists he registered last season.

He might still be Villa’s main man in front of goal, but frustration was evident in spells last term. After he appeared for just 25 minutes across the two legs in the Champions League quarter-final against PSG, Watkins admitted he was “fuming” about the lack of game time.

Coud this suggest a potential summer move is on the cards? According to FIRST.com’s partners Ladbrokes, he isn’t shy of a few suitors.

Arsenal – 6/4

“That’s the dream, to play for Arsenal one day. But, you know, it’s a long shot,” said Watkins at an awards ceremony back in 2020.

Five years later, what was once a longshot now seems like it could become a reality in the summer.

The Gunners have been linked with the Englishman routinely over the previous 12 months. With Villa failing to secure a seat at Europe’s top table, might Unai Emery cash in on the player?

Manchester United – 7/2

There is no doubt Manchester United are in urgent need of a forward who can score goals in the Premier League. Watkins, therefore, could be the ideal signing.

He has been linked with a move to Old Trafford recently, especially with Villa having to balance the books in order to avoid breaching profit and sustainability regulations.

The 29-year-old would give Ruben Amorim some much-needed quality in the final third next season, but will he have the funds available for a deal?

Chelsea – 8/1

Chelsea are third favourites in the betting market regarding a move for Watkins, but they do seem to be prioritising other centre-forwards right now.

Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko appear to be on the club’s radar, yet they could do with a reliable operator who knows the Premier League inside out.

Newcastle United – 8/1

Newcastle sealed a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2023 after a fifth-place finish in the top flight.

The financial rewards that come with that will enable Eddie Howe to make some high-profile signings. Could Watkins be one?

His record at Villa is superb and with the Magpies being a similar size of club, he would fit in with ease at St James’ Park.

Any Saudi team – 10/1

The 29-year-old isn’t old by any means, but he is closer to the end of his career than the start.

Could the finances on offer in the Middle East tempt him to swap the Midlands for Saudi Arabia this summer? It’s a longshot, but stranger things have happened.

Manchester City – 20/1

Given Man City already have Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush to call upon, Watkins would clearly struggle for much game time at the Etihad.

Perhaps if he was five years younger, but approaching his 30s, Pep Guardiola would be wasting money with this move.
