Some niche sports are missing, including winter sports and while there is esports betting on offer, it’s buried in the desktop site under the ‘more’ tab on the site’s top menu. With the growing popularity of the esports industry, having their offering more prominently placed could prove a lot more effective.
User experience and interface
There’s a loud promotional area at the top of its homepage, ensuring you won’t miss their latest casino and bookmaker offers. But, in terms of functionality, it works pretty well. There’s no A-Z sports list on the left of the website, with icons running across the centre column of the site instead. It means that finding volleyball betting requires clicking through the carousel to the end of the list, which isn’t the best user experience. There’s also a comprehensive – and handy – statistics portal that offers a plethora of statistical information to help inform your betting. The in-play tab allows a great tool to drag and drop your chosen sport or match into a multi-view setup to easily track your bets.
Mobile and app compatibility
The Hollywoodbets app suffers from similar issues in regards to finding sports but it’s light years easier to swipe your way across the list on the app than clicking through on a desktop computer/laptop. The app is undeniably the more user-friendly option of the two but the colourful offer header at the top of the site remains. At the time of our review, the android version of the app was not available via the Google Play Store, with the link on the Hollywoodbets website instead taking you to an instant download. The Apple version is on the App Store, though the rating is very low, from very few reviews.
