Highbet is a Malta-based betting company founded fairly recently, in 2021. They initially focused on their casino content but have now put together a very competitive online sports betting service and have already made an impact in the market.

Available sports

Highbet has markets available for pretty much every sport you would want to place a bet on. They’ve got the main ones like football, tennis and horse racing covered, while there are also markets for niche sports including lacrosse, stock car racing as well as  numerous winter sports.

Their football coverage is decent,you can create bet builders for games and they also have a good selection of football boosts on the big games.

However, they don’t yet show the individual odds for each selection on the bet builder. One way to level up their offering would be to showcase markets such as player shots on target and fouls aren’t available like they are with other UK bookmakers.

Highbet’s in-play section is brilliant, especially for football. They have an abundance of markets available for live games and they also have tennis, basketball and even esports covered. 

They have also clearly invested time and effort into their esports betting options. The different games have their own tab on their list of all sports. League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike, Kings of Glory and Valorant are all covered.

Their American sports coverage is solid and you can place bet builders too, although they could offer player-specific markets. However, they have more than enough team markets for NFL games to keep you coming back for more.

User experience and interface

The user experience on Highbet is pretty good overall. The blue and white colour scheme is simple yet effective and isn’t full of graphics that can be an eyesore at times.

The site can lag a bit when you’re moving around different sports and markets but there’s plenty to keep you busy on there. They also have a ‘blog’ section on their site, elevating themselves above other operators in the industry. This takes you to a central hub for betting tips on certain events written by a pool of industry experts. 

You also cannot access tabs such as ‘help’ and ‘about us’ at the bottom of the site on the bookmaker page. To access a ‘help’ or ‘about us’ function navigate to the Highbet logo on the top left which takes you to a homepage with casino games. There you will see all the tabs at the bottom of the site including responsible gambling, FAQs and bonus policy. 

When you arrive on the Highbet sports betting site, you are welcomed by their new customer offer and the array of sports and markets are listed below. Their boosted odds section is next above the biggest sporting events for that day. Additionally, when you’re signed in on both desktop and mobile, there is a live chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen which is easily accessible.

Mobile and app compatibility

There are only small differences between Highbet’s desktop and mobile sites. They’re basically identical apart from the boosted odds section moving from the left of the screen on desktop to front and centre on mobile.

The desktop site is also focused on in-play markets (they’re the first thing you see below the welcome offer) and they also have a ‘next races’ option on the right for upcoming horse racing and greyhound racing.

Highbet’s mobile site is easy to use and they have home, in-play, betslip and more (takes you to all sports, bet builder and settings) tabs at the bottom of the site. Because they don’t have an app, their mobile site generally feels like you’re using an app.

Highbet has a decent amount of deposit and withdrawal options. You can deposit money into your account using Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Trustly, Skrill, Paysafecard, MuchBetter and instant bank transfer. The minimum deposit is £10 for all methods. However, you can’t deposit money into your betting account with a credit card.
