What is Spreadex all about?
Bonuses
During our review of the Spreadex Sports website and app, there was a decent selection of sign-up bonuses and offers for new customers, including their ‘Bet £25, Get £50’ welcome offer, and ‘earn an iPad or up to £300 cashback’ on the trading side. A promotion trio of horse racing offers, special bonuses, plus acca boosts, were also available. We weren't able to identify any bonus codes.
Available sports
The selection of sports on offer at Spreadex is comparable with most of the other bookmakers in the UK sports betting market - Premier League and horse racing always on offer. Virtual sports and politics/election betting are also present, but there is a relative lack of niche sports compared to many of the other top bookies online.
Minimum bets are available starting with just 1p and for more volatile markets from 15p. The minimum stake size is always displayed on the betting slip and/or trade ticket itself.
User experience and interface
The Spreadex sports betting site can best be described in three words: effective, but dated. The website looks in desperate need of a refresh, and while the information you’d expect to see on the site is all there. It’s not going to win any awards for design or aesthetics. That said, if you’re a no-frills sort of bettor, the rather basic, black and white Spreadex site might be just what you’re after. It’s short on bells and whistles, but it does what it needs to do. Sign-up process and log in were straightforward. The only issue we encountered was the amount of times the site defaulted to spread betting markets, not fixed-odds markets, which required an extra click or two before we got to the match odds we were looking for.
Spreadex does not offer a free demo account to try out their trading platform, though they do have small trading bets as low as 1p-15p, which is quite nice for any beginner to practice.
Mobile and app compatibility
The Spreadex website looks pretty basic in terms of design and, to be fair, so does the app. The featured areas at the top of the homepage offer a little design and functionality, but the menus, and the lists are all very simplistic. That may have a positive effect on the speed of the app. But in our tests across all the betting sites we’ve reviewed, speed hasn’t been an issue, so I’m not sure the stripped-back front end is essential. Functionality-wise, like the website, it works a treat, and that’s why it has solid ratings on Google Play. Its ratings on Apple’s App Store are higher, but it’s had a small number of reviews by comparison.
App Store: 4.7/5 stars (533 ratings)
Google Play: 4/5 stars (50k reviews)
VIP programmes and loyalty rewards
During our review of Spreadex, we could not find a loyalty programme, though there was a ‘refer and earn’ programme where customers can refer a friend to earn bonuses.

Whats happening with the Spreadex / Sporting Index merger?
Spreadex bought the business-to-consumer (B2C) arm of Sporting Index in November 2023, but the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) raised monopoly concerns. After an appeal overturned the order to sell, the case is still under review, with a final CMA decision expected later this year.
