India vs England ODI betting tips: Hosts to complete a clean sweep?
After victories by four wickets in both of the first two games of the series in Nagpur and Cuttack, India will be looking to inflict a whitewash on England in the third and final ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
It has been a very tough couple of weeks for the tourists who were beaten 4-1 in the T20Is.

And although the losing margin in terms of wickets has been quite narrow in both ODIs, India’s victories have not been in doubt for a long time even before the winning runs have been hit!
India state of play
Even an injury to Virat Kohli on the eve of the opening game of the series has not been enough to derail India. The side who got over the line with 68 balls remaining on Thursday and still had 5.3 overs to spare in Sunday’s second ODI.
From captain Rohit Sharma’s century in Cuttack to Axar Patel’s emergence as a reliable middle-order batter, the hosts have excelled throughout the series but their two standout performers have been Shubman Gill with the bat and Ravindra Jadeja with the ball.
On his way to scores of 60 and 87, Gill has enjoyed a partnership of 100+ in both games. While Jadeja has been a thorn in England’s batting, picking up three wickets in each match.
Not that India’s dominance should be anything of a surprise though, as they will arrive in Ahmedabad having beaten England in 26 of their last 32 head-to-heads as hosts!
England state of play
With their opening game at the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy less than a fortnight away, England continue to look like a shadow of their ODI predecessors who dominated the format from 2015-2019.
After the incredible turnaround that coach Brendan McCullum produced with the Test team in the spring of 2022, hopes were high that he would do the same with the white ball sides.
However, the early evidence is very worrying for England fans as, since taking the reins at the start of this trip, he has lost six of the seven fixtures!
There have been some positives in the first two games with opener Ben Duckett hitting 97 runs in total and Joe Root top-scoring with 69 on Sunday.
Equally, pace bowler Jofra Archer, who was rested for the second match, and keeper-batter Jamie Smith, who has missed the last five games of the tour through injury, should both return to give England a fighting chance of avoiding a 3-0 drubbing.
