IMAGO Luke Humphries is looking to extract revenge for last year's final defeat and claim a first Premier League title

After 16 weeks, seven countries and 112 matches, the Premier Playoffs are finally upon us.

Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall are the last four players standing and they will be aiming to end Thursday evening as the Premier League champion. With a prize of £275,000 also waiting for the winner.

Last year, Littler made history by becoming the youngest ever winner of the competition, defeating Humphries in the final.

If he claims victory at the O2, the 18-year-old would be the youngest player to successfully defend their title.

He wont have everything his own way, especially with Price standing in his way at the semi-final stage. Should he win that, a clash against Humphries or Aspinall will be his reward.

For the final time in 2025, we at FIRST preview the matches in the Premier League.

Key talking points: Luke Humphries will be out for revenge in London

Last year, Humphries lost 11-7 in the final to the teenager and there is no doubt he will be out to avenge this defeat.

The pair have faced each other a staggering eight times in the Premier League this season. Littler leads the head-to-head 5-3. Five of these matches have been finals, with the 18-year-old again prevailing 3-2.

Could these victories give him an edge heading into another potential Premier League final?

Humphries will first have to get through Aspinall, who performed admirably during the final two weeks of the regular season to secure a place at the O2.

The 2024 world champion holds a 3-1 record over the ‘Asp’ in the competition this season.

Their previous clash was a classic, with Humphries averaging 113.5 while Aspinall averaged 104.03, although this wasn’t enough to secure the win.

Humphries is the overwhelming favourite for the match. Although, if Aspinall can conjure up the type of performance that saw him defeat Michael van Gerwen two weeks in a row recently, then it might be a closely fought game.

Price enjoyed several purple patches throughout the 2025 season, notably getting the better of Littler twice across four games.

At one stage, he had defeated the world champion in six consecutive matches across all competitions.

The Welshman finished sixth for tournament average and fifth for total 180s in the regular season. But his ability to turn on a near perfect display at will surely makes Littler slightly nervous.

He does have the advantage of winning both their recent meetings, but the young Englishman will need to bring his A game right from the start to secure a place in the final.

FIRST’s top tip for the Premier League darts playoffs

In Littler’s two wins over Price this season, both games have finished 6-3 to the teenager. As such, siding with Littler to defeat Price -1.5 handicap at 13/25 with BetMGM is FIRST’s best bet of the night.

Pick: Luke Littler to beat Gerwyn Price -1.5 handicap - 13/25 (BetMGM)

Extra tips

Gerwyn Price to score over 4.5 180s vs Luke Littler – 1/2 (BetMGM)

Over their four meetings this season, Price has scored 14 total 180s, with at least two being hit in every game.

Given the semi-final is the best of 19 legs, if Price hits form, he could reel off five or more 180s easily.

Luke Humphries to average over 98.5 vs Nathan Aspinall  – 4/5 (BetMGM)

Humphries ranked second in the final league table for tournament average (99.93) and with the match lasting longer, it will give him time to settle into a rhythm.
