Arsenal state of play

Last month's international break came at the perfect time for Arsenal, with the Gunners winning their last three outings by an aggregate scoreline of 13-3.

Mikel Arteta's side won 5-2 at West Ham on Saturday to leave them second in the Premier League and nine points behind Liverpool.

Arsenal remain unbeaten at home this season and they'll be confident of extending that record as they chase down Liverpool.

Manchester United state of play

Ruben Amorim saw his Manchester United side draw at Ipswich in his first game in charge but the Red Devils have gone on to win their last two and there is a feel-good factor at the club.

United beat Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday before their 4-0 win against Everton at Old Trafford.

Amorim already seems to have transformed Marcus Rashford, with the forward netting three times in the last two league games.

Key talking point: Arsenal too good to be beaten at home?

While Amorim is starting to turn the tide, he faces his toughest test against Arsenal.

The Gunners are unbeaten at home in the league (won four, drawn two), while they've also scored 15 times and conceded just six goals.

United are up to ninth in the table and they're just four points off the top four, however, Arsenal will be intent on keeping the pressure on league leaders Liverpool who face Newcastle at St. James’ Park on the same night.

FIRST’s top tip for Arsenal vs Man United

Arsenal to win & over 2.5 goals at 99/100 (1.99) with Mr.Play

We’re siding with an Arsenal win as Arteta’s side should have too much quality for their rivals. United will struggle to contain Bukayo Saka, while Martin Odegaard’s return has helped Arsenal get back in sync.

We’ve added in over 2.5 goals too. Arsenal’s last three games have averaged 5.3 goals, while United’s matches under Amorim are averaging 3.67 goals.

Goals have been in the air at the Emirates Stadium this season, with Arsenal’s six home clashes seeing an average of 3.5 goals.

Extra tips

Both teams to score at 27/50 (1.74) with Mr.Play

This play has landed in three of Arsenal’s last four games in all competitions and two of United’s three outings under new boss Amorim.

Bukayo Saka to score anytime at 133/100 (2.33) with Mr.Play

Saka has scored in his last three games (as well as registering four assists). He’s Arsenal’s main man and he’s averaging four shots per match over his last three outings.

Team news

Arsenal are likely without midfielders Mikel Merino and Thomas Partey, while they’re sweating on the fitness of centre-back Gabriel, who was forced off at half time of their win at West Ham. So Jakub Kiwior could fill in alongside William Saliba.

United, who are without the suspended Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, will be hoping Bruno Fernandes is fit after he came off in the second half of their victory against Everton.
