Arsenal state of play

Arsenal delivered a real statement by beating Champions League holders Real Madrid in both legs of their quarter-final tie.

The Gunners, leading 3-0 from the first leg, could have wobbled at the Bernabeu, but Bukayo Saka, who had earlier missed a penalty, and Gabriel Martinelli were on target to secure a 2-1 win and extend Arsenal's unbeaten streak in the competition to eight.

There's real momentum behind their European bid despite failing in the Premier League and Mikel Arteta's squad should be well rested, having not played since last Wednesday's 2-2 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace.

PSG state of play

Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to claim their third Premier League scalp after seeing off Liverpool and Aston Villa in earlier rounds.

Luis Enrique's team had a nervy evening on their latest trip to England, however, as they suffered a 3-2 defeat in the second leg of their quarter-final tie at Villa Park - their fifth loss in this season's Champions League.

PSG's full focus is on becoming European kings after tying up the French title, although they head to the Emirates in losing fashion after their hopes of an unbeaten domestic campaign were extinguished by Nice last Friday.

Key talking point: Can Arsenal replicate their league phase success?

Arsenal have been strong at home and beat PSG 2-0 in the league phase last October.

The Gunners' only slip at the Emirates in this season's tournament, last month's 2-2 draw against PSV, was effectively a dead-rubber and that was also the only time they have conceded there.

William Saliba and co will be busy as PSG boast plenty of attacking weapons, but the visitors' record on their travels is mixed, having lost three of their seven Champions League away games.

It will be cagey at times, due to the importance of the clash, but a stalemate is unlikely.

There were two goals or more in five of the six Champions League semi-final first legs since 2022 and only one of Arsenal's six home games ended with less than two goals being scored.

A second defeat of PSG would, no doubt, have Gooners dreaming of the final.

FIRST’s top tip for Arsenal vs PSG

The data suggests there's a good chance of two goals or more being scored and Arsenal should take an advantage to Paris as they have turned the Emirates into a fortress.

Extra tips

Gabriel Martinelli 1+ fouls committed - 5/6 (Betway)

Martinelli will be busy keeping Achraf Hakimi in check and this selection looks overpriced as he's averaging 1.18 fouls per Champions League appearance.

Declan Rice 1+ shot on target - 2/1 (Betway)

He's likely to play deeper, which could limit his attacking output, but Rice is averaging 0.85 shots on target per Champions League game and could get efforts away from range.

Team news

Thomas Partey is suspended and Jorginho misses out through injury. Mikel Merino and Ben White should be passed fit, but Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are all sidelined.

PSG boss Luis Enrique has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
