England World Cup squad odds: Who's in and who's close to call up?

England rounded off 2026 World Cup qualification with a comfortable 2-0 win in Albania on Sunday evening.

Overall, Thomas Tuchel oversaw eight successive wins, 22 goals scored and none conceded. The Three Lions sailed through qualifying to book their flight stateside next summer.

Attention will now turn to Tuchel’s squad selection for football’s biggest showpiece and ultimately win the trophy in North America next year. The German has plenty of food for thought following a routine campaign and while there are guaranteed picks, there are still a few spots up for grabs.

Here we run through the best odds of those seeking to nail down a squad spot for the World Cup.

Jordan Henderson – Brentford

Jordan Henderson is still starting regularly for Brentford in the Premier League. And his solid club form means he continues to make the England squad. Some may not like it, but there is a very good reason why Henderson is still called upon by Thomas Tuchel on the international stage.

At 35 years of age, Henderson is an elder statesman in the squad. For the November internationals, Declan Rice, at 26, was the second oldest central midfielder.

In short – Tuchel wants Henderson’s experience in the setup, and who can blame him.

Even so, the Bees star is still at a best price of 1/2 with BetVictor to join the likes of Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford and Marc Guehi on the plane next year.

Nico O’Reilly – Manchester City

Having been a late call up as a replacement for the injured Reece James last month, Nico O’Reilly was selected from the outset by Tuchel this time around.

The England boss isn’t short of young English left-backs, with Myles Lewis-Skelly providing competition for the Manchester City man on the international stage.

The issue is that Lewis-Skelly’s lack of game time for Arsenal is now hindering his chances of making the England squad, let alone the starting XI.

O’Reilly played the full 90 in both games this month, admittedly two matches that England didn’t need to win, but the City youngster now looks to be first choice left-back for the national team. Even so, he’s at 4/5 with Coral to make the 2026 World Cup squad.

Adam Wharton – Crystal Palace

Adam Wharton finally made an England squad. Not only that, but the Crystal Palace man earned international minutes this month.

Wharton made his first appearance in over a year when he came off the bench against Serbia, and just his second career start in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Albania.

While Tuchel has admitted that Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson are his first-choice central midfield pairing at present, England need cover in a key area. Wharton, therefore, is the logical backup for both Rice and Anderson.

While he’s now unlikely to start at the World Cup, the 21-year-old is 10/11 with Ladbrokes to be called up by Tuchel next summer.

Djed Spence – Tottenham

Thomas Tuchel scolded Djed Spence recently for his decision to snub Tottenham boss Thomas Frank. Spence appeared to blank the Dane following Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Chelsea earlier this month after what was a dire showing from the north London side. “I didn’t like it,” Tuchel admitted.

Even so, it wasn’t enough for the England boss to overlook the versatile full-back for the Three Lions selection this month.

Granted, Spence didn’t feature in either meeting with Serbia or Albania, but the ability to cover at both right and left-back certainly weighs in the 25-year-old’s favour.

Spence is still at 10/11 with Ladbrokes to make England’s World Cup squad, which is a decent price considering how regularly he has featured for the Three Lions this year.

Jarrod Bowen – West Ham

Like Spence, Jarrod Bowen is another who can play a number of roles for his country.

The West Ham star started the 2-0 win over Albania, and featured in five of England’s eight World Cup qualifiers. He’s not a guaranteed starter, which is hardly a surprise given Bukayo Saka is first choice on the right.

However, Bowen offers Tuchel cover for a number of roles across the frontline. Indeed, the 28-year-old is able to play through the middle and on the left, giving the England boss options in the final third.

Despite regular call-ups, Bowen is still at 10/11 with Coral to get the call from Tuchel next summer.
