England World Cup 2026 squad odds: Who's tipped to be picked?
- Ben McAleer Sports betting expert
England made it five wins from five in World Cup qualifying as they put on a show in Serbia on Tuesday night. The Three Lions eased to a 5-0 victory in what was arguably the best performance from Thomas Tuchel’s men since the German took charge at the turn of the year.
With one foot in North America already as they passed their toughest qualification test with flying colours, the key players in the squad will be dusting off their passport ahead of their trip stateside next summer.
The likes of Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Jordan Pickford and Marc Guehi are already assured of their spot on the plane, injury permitting, but there are those who are still fighting for a spot in Tuchel’s squad.
Here we run through the value picks of those looking to make the cut, plus the latest odds from the best football betting sites.
Noni Madueke - Arsenal
Noni Madueke became the latest to swap Chelsea for Arsenal over the summer, taking a well-trodden path from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates walked by the likes of Kai Havertz, Jorginho and Kepa in recent years. The tricky winger has already started more league games than many had expected this season, featuring from the outset in meetings with Leeds and Liverpool owing to Bukayo Saka’s injury.
He marked his ninth appearance for England with a well-taken goal against Serbia in midweek, and already Saka’s understudy at club level, the 23-year-old should hold down the spot for country too. Available at a best price of evens with bet365, it’s a potential double-your-money pick that’ll only shorten in time.
Marcus Rashford - Barcelona, on loan from Manchester United
It’s been a rollercoaster few months for Marcus Rashford after he was cast out at Manchester United. Rashford impressed on loan at Aston Villa in the second half of the season only for injury to pre-maturely end his campaign. A move to Barcelona hasn’t quite gone according to plan in the opening weeks of his time in sunny Spain, yet Thomas Tuchel still saw enough to call up the versatile forward for the September internationals.
The 27-year-old has started three of England’s five World Cup qualifiers to date, and came off the bench to score from the spot in Belgrade on Tuesday. If he can avoid injury, then there is a good chance he’ll be on the plane, meaning he’s a solid 6/5 pick with bet365 to feature as one of England’s left wingers.

Dan Burn - Newcastle
It took Dan Burn long enough to earn international recognition, but he’s taken the chance to nail down a place in the England squad with both hands. The towering 33-year-old is a solid option to call upon for both club and country at left-back and centre-back, and this versatility stands him in good stead as he looks to make the flight to the US next year.
With Levi Colwill expected to miss the season, Tuchel will look to include a left-footed centre-back in his World Cup squad, with Burn undoubtedly the standout. Given question marks over Harry Maguire’s international future, combined with John Stones’ injury history, the Newcastle man is still surprisingly at 6/4 with BetVictor to make the cut.

Djed Spence - Tottenham
Djed Spence made history on Tuesday as he became the first Muslim player to win a senior England cap for the men’s side. It marks a significant turn in fortunes for the full-back, who was on the cusp of a move to Genoa last summer only for the Italian side and Spurs to fail to agree a fee. Fast forward 12 months, and Spence is Tottenham’s starting left-back and a fully-fledged England international.
It's well earned for the 25-year-old, who is arguably the best one-on-one defender in the Premier League. What was noticeable, too, was that Spence came on at right-back against Serbia, and his ability to cover both sides of the defence will have caught Tuchel’s eye. Full-back is well-covered for the national team yet Spence’s versatility and ability to operate at a high level at either right or left-back means a best price of 11/4 with bet365 is well worth a punt.
Jordan Henderson - Brentford
Should Jordan Henderson be anywhere near the England squad? That’s questionable. Will Thomas Tuchel look to the 35-year-old’s international experience in America next summer? That’s wholly possible. Henderson has been a regular in the England setup for years now, and while he may not be one of the first names on the team sheet, there is a reason the Brentford man has routinely made the Three Lions cut since Tuchel took charge.
England’s central midfield options aren’t the most experienced and a youthful side will look to their leaders in key areas as they seek to Bring Football Home. So at 9/2 with bet365 to be included in Tuchel’s final cut, it’s worth backing Henderson jet across the Atlantic next summer.
