Inter Milan state of play

Inter Milan kicked off their Champions League campaign with a bullish 0-0 draw at Manchester City before beating Red Star Belgrade 4-0 and Young Boys 1-0.

Simone Inzaghi's side come into Wednesday's clash in fine form, with Inter losing just one game so far this season. They've won six of their last seven in all competitions scoring 20 times in that period.

Inter, who won Serie A for the 20th time last season, beat Venezia 1-0 on Sunday night thanks to a Lautaro Martinez goal to leave them second in the table and just one point behind leaders Napoli.

Arsenal state of play

Inter are in fine form but the same can't be said about Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's side have won just two of their last five in all competitions.

They're winless in their last three Premier League games and they come into the clash on the back of their frustrating 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday, which left them fifth in the table and seven points off leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners were lucky to snatch a point in their Champions League opener against Atalanta but they went on to beat PSG and Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates to leave them on seven points.

Key talking point: Will Arsenal struggle to keep out Inzaghi's in-form Inter Milan side?

Arsenal face arguably their toughest test in the Champions League so far this season and they’ll have to be switched on all night if they are to shut out Inter Milan.

Inter have scored in every game in all competitions this campaign apart from their 0-0 draw at City. They’re averaging an impressive 2.14 goals per match and they’ll be confident of scoring against a struggling Arsenal side.

The Gunners were unbeaten prior to their league defeat at Bournemouth last month. But their only wins in their last five outings have been against Shakhtar (1-0) and Championship side Preston in the Carabao Cup (3-0).

Although Arsenal are suffering a slight dip in form, they are still dangerous and they always pose an attacking threat. Arteta’s side have scored in 12 of their 15 outings in all competitions, while they’ve netted two or more in nine of those.

Team news

Arsenal are still without defenders Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney, while Martin Odegaard also remains sidelined. Odegaard is edging closer to fitness and it’s touch and go if he can play some part in the match.

Inter are also missing a couple of defenders in Francesco Acerbi and Carlos Augusto. However, Hakan Calhanoglu will likely make an appearance after recovering from a thigh injury to come on as a substitute against Venezia on Sunday evening.
