Tottenham state of play

Tottenham have been going through a tricky period of late, but they’ll be looking to salvage something from their season by lifting the Europa League trophy.

The pressure remains on manager Ange Postecoglou, with Spurs sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table. There’s no doubt the focus has been in Europe of late, with little to play for domestically.

The north London outfit advanced from the semi-final stage of the competition with a comfortable 5-1 aggregate win over Bodo/Glimt.

Manchester United state of play

It’s an almost identical story for the Red Devils, who sit just one place above Spurs in 16th.

Ruben Amorim has the excuse of only taking over in the middle of the campaign, but it’s been a disastrous season in the Premier League nonetheless.

Their league form has also taken a hit in recent weeks as they put all their eggs in the Europa League basket, and they’ll be desperate to grab a silver lining from this dismal campaign.

An emphatic 7-1 aggregate victory over La Liga side Athletic Club saw them book their place in the final in Bilbao.

Key talking point: Can Tottenham continue their strong run against United?

With so much on the line for both teams, it could be blood and guts football in Bilbao. Exploring the card market could reap rich rewards here, with booking points an emerging trend in football betting.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their previous six meetings against United in all competitions, winning the last three games between the two struggling sides.

The pressure of a European final means these type of statistics more than likely go out the window, but it will be interesting to see whether it has a psychological impact on the Red Devils.

Despite Spurs’ strong record, none of their previous six meetings have been in a game of this magnitude - can Tottenham continue their impressive run in Europe?

With both sides being incredibly open at the back, giving up chances galore, it seems silly not to back the shots market. It might be worth checking out how xG statistics can help identify good bets.

This bet has won in the last six meetings between the two sides, with Tottenham regularly hitting comfortably more than four shots.

Extra tips

Pick: Shot on target - Pedro Porro - 29/10

(BetMGM)

Again, another bet that has come in regularly, winning in three of the previous four meetings.

Postecoglou has even spoken about playing Porro in a more attacking role due to injuries, increasing the chance of this bet coming in. With James Maddison out, he could pull rank on free-kicks too.

Team news

Tottenham will be without a host of key players, including Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Lucas Bergvall. Heung-min Son recently returned to action, so he should start.

Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Diogo Dalot are all doubts for United, while long-term absentees Joshua Zirkzee and Lisandro Martinez will miss out.
