Ted’s Treble - A Sandown shakedown as the Eclipse rolls into town
We have a cracking day of action ahead, as Sandown's Eclipse Meeting rolls into town, and Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley who has been amongst the winners lately, is back with his best bets at the Esher venue...
Sandown - 3.00 Blue Bolt - (15/8 Ladbrokes)

BLUE BOLT is a progressive sort, and can land the odds here for the Andrew Balding and Colin Keane combination. The daughter of Blue Point has won her last two races in good style, and looks thoroughly deserved of having a crack at this level.

Unbeaten on Turf, I like the way she went about her business last time out, and looks to have plenty of gears and the ability to quicken.
With the ground likely to be on the quick side, she looks to have the tools to be able to strut herself once more.
The Balding team are in good heart and I think she can land this before going on to tackle races at a higher grade. This combination can prove tough to crack here.
Sandown - 3.35 Ruling Court e/w (17/2 Ladbrokes)

This is a race which appears to revolve around Ombudsman, who oozed class when bolting up at Royal Ascot last time out, and a repeat effort of that run would see him extremely tough to beat.
However, that performance was only 17 days ago, so it has to be taken on trust that there is still a full tank of petrol coming into this.

It is also worth noting that the only defeat of this individual's career came over course and distance, so I would be nervous about taking short odds about the John and Thady Gosden representative.
Instead, is there a case that the market is being dismissive of the 2000 Guineas winner RULING COURT? He looked all stamina to win at Newmarket, and then looked outpaced and in need of a step up in trip when third behind Field Of Gold in the St James' Palace Stakes last time.
The original plan was to run in The Derby instead, but the ground went against him. He is thoroughly unexposed, and should have a lot more to offer with the stiff finish at Esher promising to suit. I think he can have a big say in the outcome here.
Sandown - 4.45 Dissident e/w (15/2 Coral)

We have a trappy handicap on our hands here, as a bunch of unexposed 3-year-olds tackle this Class 4 assignment over 10f. I am going to side with joint top-weight here, where I think the Handicap debutant DISSIDENT holds solid each-way claims.
The Ralph Beckett trained gelding has shown ability in three starts to date, and ran a nice trace at Windsor on his seasonal reappearance, when finishing third over 1m and is definitely one to add to your betting slip.
On that occasion, and on previous starts, he has given the succinct impression that a greater test of stamina will really suit, so I am looking forward to seeing what he can produce here.
Off a mark of 81, he is open to any amount of improvement and I would be surprised if he didn't have a few pounds in hand.
This son of Frankel hails from the Beckett yard who have been amongst the winners lately, and with Colin Keane in the saddle, they have a solid profile.
Don't forget Ed will be back ahead of Tuesday with his best bets for the afternoon's action...
