Ted's Tuesday Tips: A grateful eight to back across the week
- Ed Quigley Horse Racing tipster
Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley was firing in the winners at the weekend, and is back with his Horses to keep an eye on over the rest of the week as the 2025 St Leger draws ever closer...
Thursday
Doncaster - 2.25 Pacific Mission
There was a lot to like about the performance of PACIFIC MISSION at Kempton last time out, as despite being a little sluggish from the gates in that 7f assignment, she travelled powerfully through the race and then stayed on strongly inside the hard yards to get the job done in taking style.
She takes a big step up in class here, but looks worthy of her place in the May Hill, as she clearly has a lot of innate talent.

The apparent improvement from her debut to her second run could be attributed to her maturity and learning from that debut experience, but it is also worth noting that tongue-tie was on for the first time and that could have aided matters.
She will get my vote to take this rise in class in her stride if connections let her chance.
Doncaster - 3.00 Elana Osorio
ELANA OSARIO has been in cracking form and has been going from strength to strength lately. She comes into this Group 2 looking to make it three wins on the bounce, and although this represents a much stiffer assignment she looks more than capable of putting up a bold show in this company.
More improvement will be needed, but the salient point looks to be the trip, as she gives the impression that she will really benefit from this extended 1m6f at Doncaster, when the long home straight can really help her engage overdrive inside the closing stages.
Paddy Twomey has an outrageous record with his runners he sends over the Irish Sea and this filly could easily be added to the tally.
Uttoxeter - 6.05 Donnie Azoff
It would be fair to say that DONNIE AZOFF has gone off the boil lately, but this enigmatic character has good form at the track so can't be overlooked from springing a surprise if he returns here.

The Jamie Snowden trained 9-year-old's last win came at this track off a mark of 115, so can't be ruled out of just 2lb higher.
He clearly didn't stay the trip when tackling 2m7f at Market Rasen last time out, and so if Snowden chooses to run him here he could easily get back in the winning groove and he is versatile in regards to ground.
Friday
Doncaster - 3.00 Sunway
I am going to take a chance on the stamina of SUNWAY last, as I think he is by far the most fascinating contender coming into this.
He could often be far too keen throughout his races in his earlier days, but he is shaping more and more like a crack at a proper trip will suit these days.
With hindsight, he ran a very good race in Grade 1 company when stepping up to 2m at Goodwood on his penultimate start when finishing fourth behind Scandinavia, and there isn't a horse of that calibre in the line-up this time around.

On official ratings he doesn't have much to find, and it is worth noting that he ran a stormer on both his previous visits to the track, when runner-up in the 2023 Champagne Stakes, and third in last year's St Leger (amended result).
He was outpaced over 1m4f in France last time out, and could cause a little bit of upset here after a disappointing season to date.
Doncaster - 3.40 Finalise
The William Haggas team are in blinding form at the moment, firing in winners from all angles, and the exciting filly FINALISE could be one to keep onside as she makes the transition into Handicaps off a mark of 84.
She was runner-up on her first two starts, then absolutely destroyed the field when upped to 12f for the first time at Kempton on the synthetic surface last time out.
She powered clear by 12 lengths, looking like a filly in rude health who was steeply on an upward curve.
And could easily prove to be better than the current rating, and she looked much happier over this trip last time out, where her stride appeared to really lengthen and she looked better the further she went.
The home straight at Town Moor should play to her strengths and she looks a classy prospect.
Sandown - 3.45 Jeddaal
It will be interesting to see if JEDDAAL gets the nod for this assignment, where I think the combination of the step up to 1m and the foray into the Handicap ranks will see this individual take a step forwards after back to back efforts in the silver medal position.
This Lope De Vega colt has had to do a lot of the donkey work over 7f in small field contests, and those circumstances haven't suited.

Pedigree suggests this longer trip should suit, and hopefully he can sit off the pace this time and go through the gears in the closing stages.
A mark of 80 may underestimate his chances as he heads into a nursery for the first time, and this unexposed sort is open to any amount of improvement here.
Saturday
Doncaster - 1.50 Oxagon
It's Champagne Stakes time, and for many unexposed sorts at the start of their careers, a lot of the impressions are subjective, and OXAGON is the one that made me sit up and take note after romping home at Sandown last time out.
The time of the race was decent, and this son of Frankel picked up and took off like a rocket at the Esher venue and looks worth a crack at this big prize.
Oisin Murphy who has been having an excellent season has been earmarked for the ride, and I think this combination looks very exciting.
If we get genuine soft ground it would be an unknown, like it would be for many in this line-up and will stick with Oxagon until proven otherwise.
Doncaster - 3.40 Carmers
The St Leger is the big one, and we are looking at a small but select field for the final Classic of the season, and I think the Paddy Twomey trained CARMERS looks a very solid each-way play in my view.
He is all stamina, and put in an impressive effort when winning the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, and then looked unsuited by the drop in trip when producing a staying-on second in the Great Voltigeur.
He looks all stamina to me, and I wouldn't be shocked if he made up into an Ascot Gold Cup performer next season.
In the meantime I am finding it hard to boot him out of the frame at Doncaster, especially when you consider he had Scandinavia well beaten in behind him at the Royal Meeting. I think he remains underrated.
