GOODWOOD GALAXY fluffed the start in the Vintage Stakes last time out, but looked a nice type when winning on debut and has to be taken seriously here. He was a fast finishing fourth at the Sussex venue last time out, after getting shuffled back early doors, he showed a really good attitude once the penny dropped.
This well-bred individual should have no excuses at York, it is a much fairer track than Goodwood to navigate, despite being a proper test of speed.
If they go hard at the head of affairs, that should play into the strengths of this son of Kodi Bear. David Probert takes the ride of the David Menusier team, and this colt looks the each-way play with eight runners due to make it to post.

If Lambourn turns up and brings his A-game, then this is going to be hard work for whoever decides to take on the Aidan O'Brien star. However, Royal Ascot winner CARMERS is a progressive sort who is laden with stamina, and can make this closer than the betting suggests, and looks the solid each-way play.
Colin Keane has been earmarked for the ride, and that is no surprise as this improving sort also has a touch of class and looks more than capable of getting involved at the business end of proceedings.
Going forward, he could easily be just the type who makes up into an Ascot Gold Cup performer next year. Quick underfoot conditions will be ideal for him, and I think this combination should go well in a race that could easily cut up into a small field.

I'm not totally convinced this is a two-horse race, and I think the Andrew Balding-trained SEA THE FIRE, who is a strong traveller, will love the ground and has winning form at the venue.
You can forgive the below-par performance at Goodwood last time out on what was desperate ground, and with the weather forecast set fair, she should get the ground that she really enjoys.

If you go back to the Knavesmire in May, she absolutely pulverised the opposition in the Middleton, where she enjoyed the rattling quick ground. This venue offers a greater test of speed compared to many other venues, and so she could easily get involved in the shake-up here, especially from an each-way point of view.
The Andrew Balding team continue to operate at around a 25% strike-rate, and I think this combination is a major factor in what should be a belter of a Group 1.

It may have only been a minor event at Haydock last time out, but AMERICA QUEEN produced a stunning performance to have the field pulverised by 12 lengths. Her nine rivals were all over the place, and came home legless as she proceeded to smash them into the ground. It was a taking display and she looks well worthy of her place at the table here.
Ryan Moore has been booked to ride, and for a filly clearly full of gears, underfoot conditions should be spot on for her.
You can also make the case that her debut could have been upgraded, granted that she was very sluggish from the gates. She should have learnt a great deal from that experience, and she can make her presence felt here for the Richard Hughes yard.

This is a fascinating contest at Listed level, and it will be intriguing to see who makes the gig.
LETHAL LEVI has been a horse who has got better with age, and as officially the highest rated in the field, he has to be taken seriously at a track in which he has an excellent strike-rate over course and distance.
This is a track in which he runs very well at, and although he has been winless so far his season, he has produced some absolute belters in defeat, including on his penultimate start when being beaten a short-head at the Curragh in a Group 2.
He should be able to boss this and stamp his authority over the field down in Grade for a Karl Burke team who are in outrageous form and continue to operate north of a 30% strike-rate for August. A strongly run 6f suits and I like the chances of Lethal Levi.

I like the claims of the lightly-raced and progressive TARRIANCE. The son of Frankel has had just the four starts, winning twice, most noticeably when showing a real willing attitude to win at Sandown last time out on Handicap debut.
For one so inexperienced, it was an impressive performance, and this unexposed individual could easily be ahead of a mark of 93.
The Andrew Balding team continue to operate in fine fettle, and Tarriance looks capable of adding to the tally here. Quick ground suits, and he seems to have a lot of the boxes ticked. Colin Keane takes the ride, and this combination has outstanding claims.

The shape of the Ebor is still yet to really form, and it will be fascinating to see who makes the gig. As always, there is likely to be a strong challenge from Ireland, with some of the powerhouse yards represented and Willie Mullins holding a strong hand. Hipop De Loire proving very popular in the Antepost market for the Closutton maestro.
We normally associate all the big prizes with Aidan O'Brien, and in a way, rather oddly, Europe's richest Flat Handicap has evaded O'Brien for nearly 25 years since Mediterranean won it back in 2001.
However, I think LONDON CITY will be an each-way player if he gets the green light for this.
He was a winner on the track back in May over 1m4f, and this extra distance, nice ground and York's home straight should play to the strengths of this lightly-raced 4-year-old who should have more to offer.
With only seven starts to his name, I get the feeling we are yet to get anywhere near the ceiling of his ability, and he looks like a serious player.
