Leicester next manager odds: Sean Dyche tipped to replace Van Nistelrooy
All the rumours around Leicester City currently suggest they’re waiting until July to sack their manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The delay is reportedly due to the club waiting for a change in financial year to help them comply with financial fair play and help reduce the costs of sacking their second manager in eight months.
Should the rumours be confirmed in due course, it might not be long until the club announce their new manager – especially with the Championship season starting on 8 August.
As a result, bookmakers are pricing up who they think will be in charge next season and one man is leading the race.
Sean Dyche (2/5)
Former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche is priced as the 2/5 favourite to be the next Leicester City manager. Having been out of work since January, Dyche might be itching to get back in the dugout.
The man from the midlands has already had success in the second division, securing two promotions with Burnley after a successful short stint at Watford. The local press in Leicester and fans on social media seem excited about the possible appointment of Dyche, a man who knows what it takes to win the Championship title.
Danny Rohl (7/4)
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is second on the list at 7/4 with BetVictor. The German has had a successful spell in South Yorkshire to date, securing the club's status in the division for the past two years.
With news of off-field issues at the club, with many of the players and members of staff facing payment issues, now might be a good time for the 36-year-old to try something new. His recent Championship experience could make him a popular appointment with the Leicester City board.
Michael Carrick (4/1)
Another name on the list with recent Championship managerial experience is Micheal Carrick. The former Tottenham and Manchester United midfielder was sacked last month by Middlesbrough after three years at the club.
Failing to qualify for the top six this season meant Carrick was relieved of his duties. However, in his time at the club he mostly impressed. He guided the club to the EFL Cup semi-finals and took Middlesbrough from 21st position to 4th in his first year at the club.
Other names on the list
Gary O’Neill is next on the list at 10/1. The former Wolves manager is also out of work, something the Leicester board might appreciate whilst they’re struggling with financial issues. Next on the list are current Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior and former Norwich manager David Wagner, both of whom are priced at 12/1.
