Scheffler leads the odds ahead of this week's Scottish Open
World number one Scottie Scheffler unsurprisingly leads the odds for this weekend’s Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick. The American’s dominance in the game, currently, means he has been given short odds of 4/1, despite not being at his best playing links golf.
Rory McIlroy is the second favourite, with odds of 15/2, as he hopes to improve on his modest recent form. Behind that pair lie Xander Schauffele (16/1) and Tommy Fleetwood (18/1), with Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, and last year’s champion Robert Macintyre all at 22/1.

This year’s Scottish Open sees the DP and PGA tours combine. This, along with the fact it is the final Open Qualifying Series event, means North Berwick is set for an incredibly strong lineup this year. The world’s top five golfers will be competing in the event, which can make picking a winner decidedly difficult.
We've already delivered our betting tips and predictions for the Scottish Open, but if we're to believe the bookies, world number one Scottie Scheffler is the favourite. Scheffler has finished in the top 10 in his last nine events – a run that has included three victories. This form makes it difficult to look past the American, but it has also seen him being given very short odds of just 4/1 for the win. Having missed last year, Scheffler’s last outing in the Scottish Open was in 2023, when he finished third.
Next up in the betting is Rory McIlroy at 15/2. After securing the career Grand Slam, becoming the sixth male golfer to do so, in April this year, results have been somewhat mixed for the Northern Irishman, but he has won three events this season and won the Scottish Open in 2023. His recent break may see some improvement from the former world number 1.
A little further down the betting is course specialist Robert MacIntyre. Two years ago, MacIntrye was beaten by McIlroy’s excellent birdie finish, finishing runner-up. Last year, he went one better to take the win, although he did enjoy a lot of luck to get there.
After the win, he said: “How do I come down from this? I don’t think I will. I think I’m just going to try and ride the wave. The Open means a lot to me but you’ve got to celebrate the good times because it doesn’t happen a lot.”
The Scot is also enjoying some promising form and was unlucky not to take his first major at the US Open. MacIntyre has been given odds of 22/1 to take the win here.
