Mason Mount next club odds: West Ham and Aston Villa likely destinations

Despite joining Manchester United from Premier League rivals Chelsea ahead of the 2023 campaign, Mason Mount’s Old Trafford career is yet to truly thrive.

The 26-year-old’s two-year stint with the Red Devils has been plagued by injuries and lacklustre performances – culminating in him making fewer domestic appearances per season than at any other period playing in England’s top flight.

Now, Mount is reportedly determined to play a role in United’s rebuild. However, the club are prepared to accept a worthy fee from any of the following suitors.

West Ham – 11/2 (William Hill)

Graham Potter’s side relied heavily on the output of Jarrod Bowen throughout 2024/25 – as the 28-year-old once again demonstrated why he has been linked with ‘big’ clubs over recent years.

The arrival of Mason Mount would reduce major pressure from Bowen’s shoulders, particularly when it comes to creating chances for whoever leads the line for the Hammers in 2025/26.

Mount, already familiar with life in London, could view a switch to West Ham as an ideal opportunity to reinvigorate a stop-start career.

At 11/2 with William Hill, a bet here may provide solid value.

Aston Villa – 6/1 (BetVictor)

A sub-par Premier League goal difference saw Aston Villa miss out on a second successive Champions League campaign.

It could be argued that disappointing production from either wing prevented Unai Emery’s men from qualifying for Europe’s most prestigious club competition – with none of the outfit’s out-and-out wide players contributing more than 10 goals or assists.

Mount racked up 29 goal contributions in 2021/22 — his most consistent season to date — and Villa Park’s recent propensity for reviving the performances of struggling forwards could be just what the English attacker needs.

Newcastle – 8/1 (BetVictor)

The Magpies will fight on all fronts in 2025/26 – a fact that will force Eddie Howe to evaluate whether his squad his strong enough to maintain consistency throughout each competition.

As things stand, Jacob Murphy, Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes are Newcastle’s main threats from wide areas.

But, with Gordon’s future uncertain and Barnes unreliable as a starter, St. James’ Park could benefit from Mason Mount’s attacking talent.

A move for Mount would likely necessitate the departure of Aleksander Isak or Gordon to comply with profit and sustainability (PSR) regulations.

All things considered, 8/1 (BetVictor) is an adequate odds listing.

Nottingham Forest – 17/2 (William Hill)

Forest are renowned for splashing the cash in recent transfer windows, with club owner Evangelos Marinakis keen to qualify for the Champions League soon.

Marinakis’ European dream almost became reality in 2025 – but a late-season string of poor results saw Forest enter the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League.

Although Enthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva covered the flanks for Nuno Espirito Santo last time out, the side will require additional firepower if the City Ground is to enjoy another successful campaign.

It’s a move that certainly makes sense on paper – and William Hill have Mason Mount to join Forest at 17/2.
