Wales have been priced at 11/2 to continue their recent good run of form that has seen them top their qualifying group.
Wales were drawn in Group J of the European qualifying groups, along with North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Lichtenstein, and Belgium. The Dragons have played three of their eight total games, winning two and drawing one. In contrast, Belgium have only played a single game – a draw against North Macedonia.
The team that tops the group qualifies automatically while second-placed teams go into the playoffs against the Nations League teams. Although they are not yet halfway through the group phase, Wales are well positioned to advance: a position that will be buoyed by any kind of victory against Belgium.
Manager Craig Bellamy took over as the Welsh national manager in July 2024, and is unbeaten in nine games describing the past 12 months as “the best year of my life”.
In contrast, Belgium have seen their national form slide. The Red Devils have won just once in their last eight games, bringing an abrupt end to their so-called golden generation, which promised a lot but delivered very little. The squad has enjoyed an injection of youth into its ranks.
Only Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Thibaut Courtois remain from the group that was ranked world number one for nearly ten years. Belgium have played one qualifying game, drawing against North Macedonia.
The only notable piece of team news is that goalkeeper Courtois is injured and will be missing for Belgium.
Bookmakers believe Belgium have more than enough to turn their form around. They are 10/21 to emerge victorious, whereas Wales have been given big odds of 11/2 to stage an apparent upset. The teams are priced at 17/5 for the draw – the two have drawn four of their last nine matches, played since 2010, making it the most common outcome in these fixtures.

In terms of goalscorers, Lukaku has the strongest chance of finding the net, according to the bookies. He has been given odds of 14/5 to score first and 17/20 to score at any time. He has also been given odds of 18/1 to net a hat trick, which he has done four times during his international career. Most recently, he scored four against Azerbaijan in November 2023 and bagged a hat trick against Sweden earlier that year, both in Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Kevin de Bruyne who scored the last time these two teams met is 7/1 to score first and 5/2 to score at any time. For Wales, Brennan Johnson and Kieffer Moore have been given odds of 10/1 to score first and prices of 18/5 and 19/5, respectively, to score at any time.
