IMAGO Night three belonged to Gerwyn Price - but can the Welshman do it again in Exeter?

Gerwyn Price proved the doubters wrong on night three in Dublin, defeating Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall to win on the night and move up the Premier League table.

There were a few eyebrows raised when his name was announced as part of the eight-man field for the tournament, but he is back in form.

Night four of the event is swiftly followed by the UK Open, one of the best tournaments on the PDC circuit.

There is no seedings at the tournament, which means anyone can play anyone.

This week, FIRST will provide a main tip for the Premier League action, before providing a couple of extra ones for the UK Open.

Quarter-final fixtures for night four in Exeter

Michael van Gerwen vs Rob Cross

Gerwyn Price vs Luke Humphries

Chris Dobey vs Nathan Aspinall

Stephen Bunting vs Luke Littler

Key talking points: Can Nathan Aspinall continue his fine form?

Michael van Gerwen (MvG) will be hoping to reach a night final for the first time as he takes on Rob Cross, who has won just once in the Premier League in 2025.

MvG averaged 98.96 in his win over Chris Dobey last week, making over 50% of his doubles, which should be enough to see off Cross.

Price against Humphries is arguably the most eye-catching quarter-final. The Welshman defeated the 2024 world champion 6-4 last week, finishing the game with a staggering 85.71% on his doubles while also notching a 170 checkout.

He could well secure another win over the Englishman if he replicates this performance.

Stephen Bunting has lost all three of his games so far in the Premier League this season, winning just nine legs in the process.

Littler may have lost to an inspired Price last week, but he should have more than enough to see off an out of form Bunting.

While Price against Humphries is the blockbuster tie of the quarter-finals, the clash between Dobey and Aspinall is arguably the hardest to predict - which is why experts see darts as such a good betting sport in 2025.

Dobey reached the final on night one but hasn’t won a game since, while the ‘Asp’ took out both Cross and MvG last week in what was a welcome return to form.

Price was too good for him in the final, but he will be looking to reach another one in Exeter.

FIRST’s top tip for Premier League Darts night four

Aspinall has won his four previous games against ‘Hollywood’ dating back to March 2023 and this will play on Dobey’s mind.

Combine this with the contrasting form shown by the pair last week, siding with Aspinall to beat Dobey at 27/25 on BetMGM is our best bet of the week.

UK Open 2025 tips

As mentioned, one of the best events of the year gets underway on Friday and we at FIRST have a couple of extra tips for the UK Open.

Callan Rydz to win the UK Open – 28/1 (BetMGM)

Callan Rydz has played well since the start of the 2025 World Championships. He reached the quarter-finals of that event, losing to Van Gerwen in a close-run match.

He lost in the third round at the first two Players Championships, before beating James Wade and Price on his way to the semi-final of Players Championship three, suffering an agonising loss to Dobey.

Across six UK Open appearances, Rydz has gone beyond the fourth round three times. If he can build some momentum, there is no reason why Rydz cannot win his first televised ranking event.

Nathan Aspinall to win the UK Open – 40/1 (BetMGM)

Of course, recent form means Aspinall’s price has drifted out to 40/1, but given how impressive he was one night three of the Premier League, plus his past showings in the UK Open, this price is difficult to pass up.

The 33-year-old won his maiden ranking event at the tournament in 2019, prevailing over Cross 11-5. He has also gone beyond the third round another six times, reaching the quarter-finals in 2023.

If he can hit top form, Aspinall will be difficult to stop.

Odds correct at the time of writing.
