It hasn’t been a bad few days in the office for Luke Littler has it? After he won the UK Open, the teenager won night five of the Premier League last week before claiming the Belgian Darts Open last Sunday.

Trailing Luke Humphries by just two points, a run to the final will see Littler overtake his rival in the table and this is all the incentive he needs.

Stephen Bunting and Chris Dobey have been cast adrift at the opposite end of the table and need to pick up wins fast if they want to make the playoffs.

Night six takes place in Nottingham, a venue where Humphries defeated Aspinall in the final last year. Can he make it back-to-back wins here? Or will someone else claim the title?

Quarter-final fixtures for night six in Nottingham

Luke Humphries vs Luke Littler

Rob Cross vs Chris Dobey

Stephen Bunting vs Gerwyn Price

Nathan Aspinall vs Michael van Gerwen

Key talking points: Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall can continue their fine form

The blockbuster tie of the evening comes in the first quarter-final between Littler and Humphries. The pair have met twice in Premier League finals this season, winning one match each.

Littler’s winning run was stopped on Tuesday at Players Championship 5, as Gian van Veen won their semi-final clash 7-6.

Humphries, on the other hand, hasn’t quite been at the races since losing to James Wade at the UK Open.

He lost to Rob Cross in Brighton, before suffering an early defeat in the Belgian Darts Open, averaging just 92.61 in the process.

Cross’ win over the 2024 world champion was excellent, but early losses at the Belgian Darts Open and Players Championship 5 may have affected his confidence.

Since making the final on night one, Dobey has yet to win another game in the Premier League.

He hasn’t played badly – averages of 97.57, 96.99, 92.98 and 100.21 prove so – but the Englishman has failed to get over the winning line, losing these games either 6-5 or 6-4.

Gerwyn Price won night three in Dublin, but has suffered quarter-final defeats to Humphries and Van Gerwen since. Despite this shoddy recent form, the Welshman will back himself to return to winning way against Bunting.

Indeed, Bunting is the only man with no wins in the league this season and has failed to have a higher average than his opponent across all five of his games so far.

The last quarter-final clash between Aspinall and Van Gerwen could well be the most interesting.

Aspinall has recovered from losing his first two matches in the Premier League to reach finals on nights three and five, losing both.

Van Gerwen’s form has exuded Jekyll and Hyde-like qualities of late. A run to the quarter-finals of Players Championship 5 has been his best result in months.

Four semi-final appearances from the first five nights show plenty of consistency, but the Dutchman appears to struggle to get over the line when the going gets tough.

FIRST’s top tip for Premier League Darts night six

In both of their Premier League matches this season, Littler and Humphries have produced the goods, giving the audience a great game on both occasions.

Given the games finished 6-4 and 6-5, siding with over 9.5 legs at 17/20 on BetMGM is our best bet of the week.

Extra tips

Luke Littler to win night six – 6/4 (BetMGM)

It really is hard to bet against Littler at the moment, especially considering how hot he is on the oche right now.

Should he get through the Humphries test in the quarter-finals, the night is certainly his to lose.

Chris Dobey to score more 180s than Rob Cross  – 4/7 (BetMGM)

Across seven Premier League matches this season, Dobey has scored more 180s than his opponent four times – a success rate of 57%.

With 27 180s in seven matches compared to 22 in eight games for Cross, these odds are too good to pass up.

Gerwyn Price to beat Stephen Bunting – 4/6 (BetMGM)

Price knows that a win over Bunting will move him into the playoff places as Aspinal and Van Gerwen face each other this week.

Given their contrasting form, 4/6 for Price to see off the Englishman is a great price.
