Luke Littler returned to form on night two of the Premier League in Glasgow, defeating Luke Humphries 6-5 in a thrilling match.

The world champion lost to Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals on night one, but stormed to the title at the Hydro Arena, despite trailing Rob Cross 5-1 at one stage in his opening match.

Dublin plays host this week, a venue which has featured three different winners since 2022, including Van Gerwen and Humphries in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Who will be the victor this year?

Key talking points: Can Littler make it two-in-a-row?

The most intriguing tie of the evening is between Chris Dobey and Van Gerwen. The Dutchman was shocked at Players Championship 3 by Michael Flynn before withdrawing from the following days action.

Dobey, on the other hand, won the event on Monday, defeating Jelle Klaasen in the final 8-4 in what was a welcome return to form for the Englishman.

He averaged over 105 against Owen Bates and Krzysztof Ratajski on his way to a maiden title of 2025. Don’t be surprised to see Dobey pile more misery on the three-time world champion in Dublin.

Luke Humphries didn’t compete in either of the Players Championships this week, remaining fresh for night three.

He will be looking to ease past Stephen Bunting, who has failed to win a match so far in the Premier League this season. The 2024 world champion averaged over 100 against Dobey and Gerwyn Price last week before losing to Littler in the final 6-5.

Bunting’s form has nosedived since he reached the final of the Dutch Darts Masters at the end of January, failing to make it to the quarter-final stage at any of the Players Championships so far.

In Glasgow, he averaged 93.91 while scoring just two 180s in a 6-1 thrashing by Van Gerwen.

A few weeks ago, a clash between Price and Littler may have been a foregone conclusion, but the Welshman has improved of late, winning Players Championship 2 last week, his first ranking title since 2023.

A welcome victory over Nathan Aspinall in the Premier League last week was followed by a narrow defeat to Humphries, which could have gone either way.

Littler will head into week three fresh and keen on winning yet another nightly title.

Aspinall has won just six games throughout 2025, failing to average above 97 in each of his two Premier League defeats.

Rob ‘Voltage’ Cross raced to a stunning 5-1 lead over Littler in their quarter-final tie last week. But the teenager proved why he is the hottest commodity in the sport right now, going on to win 6-5.

Nevertheless, pushing the reigning world champion this close should give Cross plenty of confidence against Aspinall, who languishes seventh in the table.

FIRST’s top tip for Premier League Darts night three

In his four Premier League matches so far, Dobey has averaged over 95.5 three times, including a high of 97.87 against Price on night one.

Against an out-of-form Van Gerwen, siding with Dobey to average over 95.5 three times at 4/5 on BetMGM is our best bet of the week.

Chris Dobey to average over 95.5 - 4/5 (BetMGM)

Extra tips

Rob Cross to beat Nathan Aspinall – 8/11 (BetMGM)

Cross may have failed to finish the match off against Littler despite leading 5-1, but there were plenty of positives to take from it. The ‘Asp’ is struggling meanwhile and Cross should be too strong for him in Dublin.

Luke Littler to win & most 180s against Gerwyn Price – 22/25 (BetMGM)

Littler has scored 17 180s in the tournament so far, while Price has managed eight across his three games. The Welshman looks to be back on track form-wise, but Littler will be hungry to back up his performance in Glasgow.

Luke Humphries -1.5 handicap to beat Stephen Bunting – 4/6 (BetMGM)

Bunting has won only five legs across his two matches so far, while Humphries has won 35, which saw him win in Belfast and reach the final last week.

In four of his five victories, the Englishman has prevailed on this handicap, including FIRST’s bet of the week for night two.

If he plays like he has done of late, this has a wonderful chance of landing again.
