Top of the Props: Shots on target a good Beto, Huijsen hot-streak and referees taking the Mik-el
Beto over 1.5 shots on target for Everton vs Wolves – 23/10 – BetMGM
A player who has been given a new lease of life at Goodison Park is striker Beto, who has benefited from Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury and the belief of new manager David Moyes.
The Guinea-Bissau international has contributed six goals since the turn of the year and had at least two shots on target in each of his last five Premier League starts.
That form in front of goal makes him a standout price to repeat the trick against Wolves.
Vitor Pereira’s men still sit 17th in the table and are the only side who can realistically be caught by the bottom three.
They are giving up 4.52 shots on target per game and without the suspended Matheus Cunha, Everton will fancy their chances of further pulling clear of the relegation battle with three points at Molineux.
Hopefully, Beto will be central to that outcome.
Dean Huijsen over 0.5 shots for Bournemouth vs Tottenham – 4/5 – BetMGM
Ange Postecoglou’s ailing Tottenham side are still struggling to defend set pieces.
Although, they’ve only conceded six goals from such situations in the Premier League this season.
There have been plenty more in cup competitions, and across their last twelve matches in all competitions, they’ve allowed opposition centre-backs twelve shots at goal.
Dean Huijsen is Bournemouth’s biggest threat from set plays, with an average of 0.66 shots per 90 and two goals this season.
The Dutchman had five shots against Wolves in the FA Cup last weekend, and so he’s clearly keen to add to his goal tally.
He’ll also have fond memories of Spurs as he got the only goal in the reverse fixture, heading home a corner and you wouldn’t bet on him doing so again here.
Mikel Merino over 1.5 fouls committed in Manchester United vs Arsenal – 49/50 – BetMGM
Arsenal’s striker crisis has led to the introduction of midfielder Mikel Merino up front, an experiment that began well with his brace against Leicester but has since seen the Gunners look extremely blunt.
One thing Merino has never been lacking is tenacity, with the Spaniard loving to get stuck in, as his career average of 1.9 fouls per game for club and country will attest to.
Since arriving in North London, he’s averaging 2.61 fouls committed per 90 with at least two in four of his last six Premier League starts.
Merino has committed 10 fouls in three starts as a striker and will be involved in a physical battle with Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Matthijs De Ligt.
Neither of those centre-backs are often fouled, with them drawing just 0.89 fouls per 90 minutes between them.
However, Merino’s aggressive nature, coupled with the midfielder being out of position, should see him frustrated by Maguire’s hands-on approach.
He will also struggle to compete aerially, so there may be some shirt pulls or late challenges.
We’re not fussed how they come as long as he continues his trend of making at least two infringements.
Odds correct at the time of writing.
