Ted's Treble: Racing picks from Brighton, Carlisle and Ffos Las

Ed Quigley struck again on Tuesday with Kiniro (SP 7/4) and is back with his best wagers for the action on Thursday, as there is lots to get stuck into at Carlisle, Brighton and Ffos Las.

Carlisle - 1.57 Tellherthename - 8/11 Ladbrokes

It has been a bit of a stop-start career for TELLHERTHENAME, but this lightly-raced sort should have a lot more to offer now, embarking on a Chasing career. The six-year-old tried to mix it with some of the best over hurdles, but found life too tough tackling the likes of Lossiemouth and Sir Gino last season.

This looks like a much more realistic assignment on his first start over fences. He is the joint-top rated in this field, and looks as though he will have too much pace for Push The Button, who ideally needs further. All his best form has come on right-handed tracks, so this has got to be much more to his liking, providing he takes to the obstacles.

Kielan Woods is in the saddle, and this combination should be tough to beat if they bring their A-game to the table.

Brighton - 3.30 Uncle Dick e/w - 15/2 William Hill

UNCLE DICK has a remarkable strike rate at Brighton, and the seven-year-old can never be ruled out back at his happy hunting ground. The gelding has an almost unbelievable record of eight wins from starts over course and distance, so has to be taken seriously on that statistic alone.

He uncharacteristically failed to fire at the Sussex venue last time out, but that was after being very slowly away from the stalls, and from a poor draw, there wasn't much he could do to recover, so that was that. Eve Johnson Houghton's representative is now back to an official mark of 66, so he is now back on the same rating as when last successful, so he can't be ruled out from a handicapping perspective.

The cheek pieces are back on, and young claimer Oliver Carmichael is in the saddle taking off 7lb - he has a good rapport with the horse so has to be taken seriously.

Ffos Las - 3.50 Gavin - 6/4 Ladbrokes

GAVIN has been consistent and frustrating in equal measure in recent times, but has a sensational record at Ffos Las, and can enhance his strike-rate returning to the Welsh venue. The seven-year-old has a record of three wins and two placed efforts from 6 starts over course and distance, so that in itself is something that can't be ignored.

Gavin loves quick underfoot conditions, so with the weather uncharacteristically dry at the moment for this time of year, he should have a golden opportunity to put his best foot forward with a scenario that is tailor-made for him.

Mickey Bowen has been amongst the winners lately, and Sean Bowen continues to operate at a strike rate north of 30% for October. I think a return to the winner's enclosure could easily be on the cards.
