Ted's Treble: All eyes on Ascot
Ed Quigley has been firing in the winners lately, and takes a look at a big afternoon of action on Saturday, as Champions Day at Ascot rolls into town...
Ascot - 2.05 Montassib e/w
6/1 William Hill
This looks a belter, and a case can be made for quite a few in here. MONTASSIB ran well in this 12 months when not beaten far in fifth, where he ran on well from what looked the unfavourable side of the draw.
He made his belated comeback in a Group 3 at Newbury last month over the minimum trip, where he ran on strongly inside the closing stages, and should be suited much better for the return to 6f. Also, from a fitness perspective, he should be spot on for this encounter.

Cieran Fallon has been having a great season, and he takes the ride for the William Haggas team, who continue to fire in the winners. This looks wide-open, and a bold show from Montassib would be far from a surprise in this Group 1 sprint.
I know my oppo Graham Clark agrees with this one, as you can see in FIRST.com's full Ascot Champions Day betting tips preview guide.

Ascot - 2.45 One Look e/w
12/1 Coral
I think this race shapes as though we could be in for a bit of an upset, as Kalpana has had a hatred season, and Estrange has to prove she is a top-level filly. ONE LOOK doesn't have much to find on ratings, and the recently purchased by Wathnan Racing, she looks as though she has been crying out for this step up to 1m4f.
In her latest start in the Prix de l'Opera, she shaped as though a greater test of stamina would suit, and given the manner in which she stayed on inside the hard yards in the Blandford Stakes on her penultimate run, all add to the case for her showing improved form now tackling this trip for the first time.
There is plenty of stamina on the dam's side of her pedigree, so I think a big run can be expected from an each-way point of view as connections add the cheek pieces for the first time. James Doyle takes the ride for the Paddy Twomey stable, who are in great form and have a very healthy strike-rate with the horses they send across the Irish Sea.

Interview: Ted caught up with top trainer Jamie Snowden gave the rundown on 12 of his stable stars
Ascot - 4.05 Calandagan
11/4 Ladbrokes
CALANDAGAN is a class act, and is the one I would side with at the prices in what should be an enthralling encounter. Some of the world's heavyweight horses collide in the Champion Stakes, and Calandagan has the chance to go one better than 12 months ago.
The French raider was last seen winning the King George at this venue, following up his dominant display at the top level to win the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. He has been given a nice little break after a busy campaign in the early part of the summer and should arrive here absolutely spot on for this. Underfoot conditions are fine, and a strongly run 10f can see his stamina come into play.
Francis Graffard has his string in fine fettle and is looking for more huge race success after stable companion Daryz landed the Arc. Mickael Barzalona takes the ride, and this combination looks to have solid claims of yet more Group 1 glory.
