Ted's Treble: "Vanderpoel should be sharper after his Chase debut"
Ed Quigley is back with his three best bets for the action at Lingfield, Taunton and Uttoxeter on Thursday...
Uttoxeter - 1.30 Pike Road
PIKE ROAD has not looked a natural over fences, so it looks the logical move from the Martin Keighley team to bring their six-year-old back over Hurdles, where he could easily have more improvement in the locker returning to a track where he has run well in the past. A bit of cut in the ground shouldn't be an issue.
On his last start over Hurdles, which came at this track, he was travelling and jumping well until a clumsy error at the sixth flight cost him.
This small field scenario should be perfect, and the yard have been amongst the winners lately. Freddie Keighley is excellent value for his 7lb claim, and partnered Pike Road for the one time the horse has been in the winner's enclosure.

Lingfield - 2.25 Vanderpoel
Ben Pauling trains VANDERPOEL, who should not be a lot sharper after his recent seasonal reappearance and Chase debut. He finished third in a hot novice event at Uttoxeter last month where he looked taken off his feet against some smart types over the minimum trip.
He was pitched in against Lump Sum and Jax Junior, and that form is looking red hot with Lucy Wadham's charge destroying the field at Kempton on Monday. This looks like a relatively easier task for Vanderpoel who, as a former point winner, should be suited by this extra emphasis on stamina as he tackles 2m4f for the first time.
The Pauling team have been in fine fettle recently, and a big step forward can be expected here from this six-year-old who should have plenty more to offer now delving into Handicap company. Ben Jones takes the ride, and a big run can be expected.

Taunton - 3.22 Famoso
I am going to take a chance with FAMOSO, who has a good record on right-handed tracks, and has shaped as though this step back up in distance will help the six-year-old.
Jumping errors let him down at Hereford last time out in a frantic race, and this should suit better - with the benefit of knowing that he has run well at this venue in the past. The upside of some recent below-par efforts means the accessor has started to relent, and is now a whopping 13lb lower than when bolting at Ludlow just under a year ago. So off a mark of 93 he is looking undeniably well treated.
The Matt Sheppard team have been amongst the winners recently, and it would be far from a shock if Famoso bounced back in this Class 5 event, which has many of his rivals scratching around for form.
