Jack P. Shepherd wins Celebrity Big Brother 2025

Jack P. Shepherd, better known to fans as Coronation Street’s David Platt, has emerged triumphant from the Celebrity Big Brother 2025 house, beating bookmakers’ favourite Danny Beard.

Earlier in the final, Love Island’s Chris Hughes had been the first to leave, after being accused of game-playing.

Next out was Chesney Hawkes who had a relatively quiet 19-day stay, apart from sharing some intimate details about being whipped by his wife. He was also accused by JoJo Siwa of not doing enough to defend her during an earlier altercation between her and Mickey Rourke.

Actress, comedian, and writer, Donna Preston was next out before JoJo Siwa was voted out in third place. The Dance Moms alumni has been the centre of speculation surrounding her and fellow housemate Chris Hughes. Since leaving the house, Siwa’s former partner Kath Ebbs has said they were “dumped at the after-party with Chris in the next room.”

Drag queen and singer Danny Beard headed into the finale as the bookmakers’ favourite at odds of 4/7. However, it was Jack P. Shepherd who was eventually named the winner. Punters could have got odds of around 7/4 before the final announcement.

Celebrity Big Brother first aired in 2001, as a one-off spin-off of the original Big Brother UK. The show’s success saw it return in 2002 before a short hiatus. After three more runs, the show was axed by Channel 4 in 2010, when the main show was also cancelled.

Channel 5 bought the rights and both shows aired again a year later. The Big Brother franchise was again dropped, in 2018. Once again, however, it was revived, this time by ITV, in 2023, with the first rebooted series airing in March 2024.

The launch episode of this year’s series reached nearly 3 million viewers. ITV has yet to announce whether the show will return in 2026.

During the early stages of the series, Chris Hughes was the favourite to take the victory. After his falling out with Mickey Rourke, who later left the house by mutual agreement, Hughes’s odds drifted while Danny Beard’s odds shortened. Beard remained the favourite for most of the run-in, although he and Shepherd were joint 2/1 favourites at the start of the week.

The public had different ideas. Jack P. Shepherd endured a difficult start to his time in the house, being put up for eviction by his fellow housemates in the first two votes. However, as the house got used to his sense of humour, and after being saved by the public vote, his odds started to shorten until it was a two-horse race between Jack and Danny.

As the announcement was made, Shepherd hugged Danny and said “Wow!”

During his exit interview with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, Shepherd said: “I can’t believe it, I am blown away. I didn’t expect it. I thought I was a shoe-in for maybe fifth and then as people were just disappearing I thought, surely not. And then when JoJo went my head fell off.”
