Aston Villa transfer odds - who's in the departure lounge?
On this page
As we approach the final few weeks of the summer transfer window, a lot of clubs have already gone about their business. Assuming Sesko’s transfer to Man Utd completes as expected, they will join Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea in spending around £200m each, with many more deals needed to balance books and bolster squads.
On the other hand, Aston Villa are notable for having concluded very few deals. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez initially, and Ollie Watkins more recently, though.
The club were fined £9.5m by UEFA in July, with a further £12.9m suspended for three years, so they have to shop carefully or sell before they can go on a significant spending spree.
So far, the Villans have bought in 34-year-old goalkeeper Marco Bizot and 19-year-old centre back Yasin Ozcan, while promoting former under-21 goalkeeper Oliwier Zych and recently completing the purchase of striker Evan Guessand.

Emiliano Martinez
The flourish of goalkeeper movements may have come from early rumours surrounding Emiliano Martinez. Manchester United are believed to be interested in the 32-year-old Argentinian shotstopper, having allegedly lost confidence in Andre Onana.
The keeper has also attracted interest from abroad, with potential suitors including Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, and Inter Milan. Chelsea are believed to hold a slight interest in the divisive player, too.
Currently, Ladbrokes has priced a move to Old Trafford at 4/6, while a big-money move to Saudi Arabia hasn’t been ruled out, with odds of 5/1.

Ollie Watkins
Another Villa player to have been the subject of intense speculation is Ollie Watkins. Villa will be loath to let the frontman go, however.
After Rashford’s loan deal concluded, and he made it clear he had no desire to make the move permanent, it effectively left Watkins as the only out-and-out striker at the club.
So, while Villa have signed Evann Guessand from Nice, it is highly unlikely the 24-year-old was signed as a replacement for Watkins, especially as he is currently seen as an unfinished article.
But, regardless of Villa’s stance, Watkins could be on the move if rumours are to be believed.
With Sesko seemingly moving to Old Trafford, Newcastle are another club desperately in need of signings and they are leading the pack when it comes to potential buyers. They are priced at 2/1 with the Red Devils having been given a price of 7/2.
Other potential buyers include Arsenal, Tottenham, and, of course, Chelsea, who are linked with most players.

Andy Robertson
It was reported at the end of June that Liverpool would be willing to listen to offers for left-back Andy Robertson, following the signing of Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez. At the time, it was believed that Atletico Madrid was his most likely destination.
Rumours have quietened since then, and teams may be waiting until closer to the end of the transfer window to attempt to seal a deal for the 31-year-old.
However, Villa are believed to hold some interest in the player, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him turn up at Villa Park next season. Emery’s team have been given odds of 7/1 to sign the left back.
