F1 odds: Russell takes Singapore GP win as competitors close gap on Piastri
With six races of the 2025 F1 Championship left, things are getting tighter at the top. The race saw tensions heighten between McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, despite the pair helping the Papaya Oranges win the constructors’ championship.
Piastri also suffered a slow pit stop, leading to George Russell winning his second race of the season. Verstappen and Norris took second and third, respectively, meaning Piastri’s main rivals both took a chunk of points out of the Australian’s lead.
Russell took pole, his first since winning in Canada earlier in the season, ahead of Verstappen, Piastri, and Antonelli, with Norris back in fifth.

But after making a strong start, Norris tried diving down the side of Piastri before touching Verstappen’s Red Bull and correcting into the side of his teammate. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Piastri felt he should have been allowed to retake the position, but McLaren opted against initiating team orders.
Russell went on to control the rest of the race and posted a dominant win. Verstappen came home second, managing to hold off Norris at the end of the race. Piastri, the current championship leader, came in fourth.
The result means Piastri’s lead over second-placed Norris has been cut to 22 points, with Verstappen 63 points away. With six races to go, Piastri still sits at the top of the betting, with odds of 1/2, while Norris is 5/2, ahead of Verstappen at 11/2.

Bookmakers are offering odds of 6/4 on Mercedes to emerge victorious from the remaining contenders, ahead of Ferrari (7/4) and Red Bull (2/1)

Next up, the drivers head to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin for the US GP. Last year’s event was won by Charles LeClerc, ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr. in second and Verstappen in third place. Norris and Piastri finished the race in 4th and 5th position.
LeClerc is not fancied to repeat the feat, however, and has been given odds of 16/1 by bookmakers, who have priced Max Verstappen as the favourite. Punters can get a price of 7/4 on the Belgian, who needs the win to further cut into Piastri’s lead.
Norris is the early second favourite at 2/1, with the current championship leader, Piastri, priced at 5/2.
