Luis Diaz next club odds: Best odds on Bayern transfer

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has told the reigning Premier League champions that he intends to depart Anfield this summer.

Signed from FC Porto midway through 2021/22, the Colombian international stands as one of Arne Slot’s most important players, proven by his 22 goal contributions in 50 appearances across all competitions last season.

It is believed that interested suitors can acquire Diaz for £87m – and UK bookmakers expect the following outfits to enter the race before the transfer window shuts.

Bayern Munich – 4/6 (William Hill)

Bookmaker William Hill have Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich at 4/6 – with these odds representing the best value for money on the market.

Holding out for a better listing is inarguably unwise at this stage; Bayern have already approached Liverpool with a £58m bid.

That manoeuvre was promptly rejected by Liverpool – but the 34-time Bundesliga champions remain keen on the 28-year-old forward.

With Diaz eager to explore new opportunities and Bayern desperate to shore up their attacking options, as well as the English side’s links to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, an agreement here is certainly within reason.

Barcelona – 5/4 (BoyleSports)

Spanish giants Barcelona have publicly outlined their interest in Luis Diaz, though the side has made no formal move for the left-sided winger.

Deco, sporting director at the Catalan side, has expressed admiration for Diaz in media interviews. Whether Diaz’s entourage sanctioned these comments is unknown – but the ex-Barca man’s praise undoubtedly sought to stir unease on Merseyside.

But intrigue is one thing, agreeing to a deal is quite another.

Barcelona’s financial plight is well understood by the footballing masses, and it is unlikely that the club can meet Liverpool’s hefty £87m asking price.

There is value in BoyleSports’ 5/4 odds on this transfer…but any bet here must be made with the understanding that Barcelona will need to offload players to fund this switch.

Any Saudi team – 11/4 (William Hill)

Monetary troubles could not be further from the minds of those at PIF-owned Saudi Arabian teams.

More pressing is Luis Diaz’s preference; does the fluid forward wish to remain in Europe, or accept a lucrative Middle East package?

Interestingly, Liverpool’s price tag for ‘Lucho’ would place him third on the Saudi Pro League’s all-time transfer record – behind Neymar and Jhon Duran, respectively.

Will the division’s higher-ups want to invest in one more expensive attacker? Only time will tell – but William Hill’s 11/4 listing points to tangible potential in this deal.

Real Madrid – 25/1 (William Hill)

Los Blancos are firmly fourth in line to sign Luis Diaz before the transfer window closes.

The most likely outcome, if any, is a swap deal between the continental rivals – with Rodrygo heading to England and Luis Diaz going in the opposite direction.

It’s a package that only really makes sense on paper and much less in reality. William Hill’s 25/1 odds reflect that fact.

Still, stranger things have happened.
