QUISISANA e/w - 16/1

This race has a wide-open feel to it, and an upset could potentially be on the cards. I'm going to go for a boil-over, and I wonder if the market is being unnecessarily dismissive of the Francis Graffard-trained QUISISANA.

She's a five-year-old, but of very low mileage for her age, and her recent win at Group 1 level in the Prix Jean Romanet took her career record to her career tally to six wins in eight starts, and the last time she was beaten was nearly 18 months ago. She is versatile in regard to underfoot requirements, and has improved with each run this season.

She steps back up to 1m4f for only the second time in her career, and the last time she ran over this distance, she absolutely bolted up, albeit at a lower level. Francis Graffard trains, and 25-year-old jockey Alexis Pouchin is in the saddle. I think this combination can go well for each-way brackets from a very handy draw in Stall 7.

Ladbrokes has Quisisana at 16/1

Kalpana - 10/1

KALPANA fluffed her lines in her quest to make it back-to-back September Stakes, but her overall body of form this season means she has to be respected. Her second-place finish to Calandagan in the King George was a great effort, where she probably hit the front too soon. With forecast rain on the way and headgear applied, I wouldn't be shocked if we see the real Kalpana here.

Minnie Hauk - 7/2

MINNIE HAUK has been supplemented for this at a cost of 120,000 euros and the star middle-distance filly from the Classic generation has to go well for the Aidan O'Brien and Christophe Soumillon combination. She's won every race this season, including the Epsom and Irish Oaks, so is a proven and classy performer at the top level over this trip. She has to take on the boys now, but will have every chance of serving it up to them in what should be a thrilling encounter.
