Premier League top scorer odds: Haarland to win the Golden Boot?

Seven games into the Premier League season and Erling Haaland has scored more goals (9) than nine entire teams in the division. The Norwegian has netted in all but one of his seven top-flight outings in 2025/26 as Manchester City look to avoid another trophyless season.

And having missed out on the Golden Boot award last term, Haaland will be hellbent on winning the gong back this time around.

With the international break upon us, it’s as good a time as any to run through the frontrunners for the Premier League’s Golden Boot award.

Erling Haaland

I mean… is this a surprise? Erling Haaland has scored one fewer goal (9) than Wolves and Nottingham Forest combined (10) in the Premier League this season. Manchester City’s goal machine has scored in six of his seven top-flight outings to date, with Pep Guardiola’s Kryptonite Tottenham the only side to handle Haaland.

City’s goal machine has won the Golden Boot in two of his three Premier League campaigns to date, having finished seven goals off the pace last season. He’s laid down an early gauntlet this time around and is presently the 1/3 favourite to claim the award with Betway. Click below to claim your welcome bonus with Betway.

Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal’s big-money striker signing hasn’t hit the ground running as many had hoped. Viktor Gyokeres netted 39 league goals for Sporting CP last season, but he’s hardly set the Premier League alight in the opening weeks of the campaign.

The Gunners may sit top of the pile after seven matches, yet the Swede has struck just three goals in the first seven games of the season, two of which came in a resounding 5-0 win over Leeds in August.

Even so, Gyokeres is at a best price of 14/1 with William Hill to top the scoring charts come May. The 27-year-old is putting up a modest 0.25 xG per shot, and for an Arsenal side that is averaging the third most key passes per game (9.9), it’s only a matter of time before Gyokeres finds his rhythm. That said, he’s now six goals off the pace following the weekend’s Premier League action.

Antoine Semenyo

Only Haaland has scored more goals than Antoine Semenyo (6) in England’s top tier this term. The Ghanaian winger has made a superb start to the campaign, chipping in with an additional three assists. Friday’s brace against Fulham means he’s now just five goals off matching last season’s haul.

The issue for Semenyo will be whether this current run of form is sustainable over the course of the season. The 25-year-old endured seven and five-game goalless streaks in the 2025/26 campaign. These barren runs will be why, despite scoring three more goals than Gyokeres in the opening weeks of the season, Semenyo is at 14/1 with Ladbrokes to win the Golden Boot.

Mohamed Salah

Last season’s Golden Boot winner has made a stuttering start to the season. Indeed, Mohamed Salah has netted only twice so far, and one of those was a late penalty in a narrow 1-0 win at Burnley. Even though he's still one of the bookie favourites to snag the Ballon d'Or, there’s no denying Salah has faltered in the opening weeks - evident in that Arsenal left-back Riccardo Calafiori has had more shots (14) than the Liverpool wideman (12).

Evidently struggling to adjust to a change in setup owing to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid, Salah, like the rest of this Liverpool squad, needs time to come to grips with a plethora of new signings. Combined with Salah’s goalshy start to 2025/26, it means he’s now at 16/1 with Betfred to win the individual award for the second season running.

Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro made a strong start to life at Chelsea following his summer arrival from Brighton. Indeed, he netted in the semi-final and the final of the Club World Cup against Fluminense and PSG, respectively, and scored his first and second league goals of the season across the opening three games.

However, like Chelsea, Pedro’s form has dipped since the September international break. The Brazilian has managed just two shots in his last four league appearances, a far cry from his sprint start to life in west London. With that, the 24-year-old has since drifted to 20/1 with Coral to trump the likes of Haaland and Salah as the Premier League’s top scorer.

Alexander Isak

Liverpool’s big money deadline day signing hasn’t been quite the free-scoring forward many on Merseyside hoped. To be fair, Alexander Isak moved to Anfield having missed all of pre-season as he sought to force a switch to the champions, which means he has been playing catch-up from the moment he arrived.

Having scored 23 league goals last season, supporters are hopeful that Isak will find his shooting boots sooner rather than later. The 26-year-old is one of the best finishers in world football, but with just three league appearances and no goals, Isak is at 22/1 with SpreadEx to win the Golden Boot.
