Antoine Semenyo next club odds: Liverpool lead race for Bournemouth star

The race for Antoine Semenyo is hotting up. As we edge closer to the January transfer window, the Ghanaian is very much in demand. A number of Premier League sides are monitoring Semenyo, and for good reason.

Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, who has scored six goals and provided an additional three assists in his opening 11 outings this season. And with a £65m release clause, it’s no wonder the division’s big hitters are circling the Vitality Stadium ahead of the turn of the year.

Liverpool – 8/11

After a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence, with odds slipping to 25/1 for them to defend their title this season, Liverpool are looking to rejuvenate their frontline in the New Year. Not only do the Reds need a left winger, but they require an additional attacking option in Mohamed Salah’s impending absence.

Salah jets off for AFCON next month, a competition Semenyo’s Ghana won’t be playing in owing to their failure to qualify. With Egypt one of the favourites to win the tournament in Morocco, Liverpool could be without the forward for over a month. This will be a major concern for Arne Slot, who is already subject to speculation when it comes to his longevity with Liverpool.

Granted, Liverpool invested heavily in their attack over the summer to sign Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz but the forward line is lacking variety, particularly down the left. Sporting director Richard Hughes has an established relationship with Bournemouth, which will help the Reds in their push for Semenyo. As such, the Cherries star is at 8/11 to be a Liverpool player by the time February rolls around.

Bournemouth – 2/1

Bournemouth are understandably desperate to retain their star forward’s services in the New Year. Semenyo put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Cherries over the summer despite links with a move to Tottenham and Manchester United. However, with a £65m release clause, Bournemouth may have little say over a potential exit.

That clause itself expires by a set date in January in order to give the south coast side a chance to bring in a replacement. In addition, there is an additional release clause that can be activated in the summer for less than the £65m in the New Year. Bournemouth are hopeful Semenyo will remain at the club to see out the campaign, with Andoni Iraola’s side at 2/1 to retain his services.

Tottenham – 12/1

Spurs have bigger concerns than the need for a left winger in the New Year, though it was a position they sought to strengthen over the summer as they pushed for Manchester City’s Savinho. And with reports suggesting that they are eyeing a readymade wide forward in January, fans are hoping they’ll go guns blazing for Semenyo as soon as the clock strikes midnight to ring in 2026.

The north London side do need to get their house in order first, however. Thomas Frank is under pressure after a dire North London Derby display, and managerial uncertainty combined with their sub-par attacking showings means they are now at 12/1 to be Semenyo’s club after the January transfer window.
